Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town in South Africa!
This is my 25th week contributing to "Three Tune Tuesday", an initiative started by @ablaze. It is week 90 overall!
I am trying to stick to a set pattern, where I perform 2 cover songs (written by famous artists) and 1 original song (written by me [or us in this case]) around a theme.
This week, @clairemobey came to my house to practice for our first real "MobeyDick" (our duo) gig of the year, which will be on 18 February. We decided, similar to last week, why not make a Three Tune Tuesday set while we practice and end off with a MobeyDick original that she wrote? (We both write songs for MobeyDick, but I've already done all the ones I've written... so far!)
The 18 February gig will feature two sets of about an hour each. During that time we will probably only play about 4 covers, and the rest will be original songs... Needless to say, the theme for this week's TTT is "Songs we will play at our next gig part 2" again!
For the first song, how about "Shallow" by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper for their famous movie "A Star is Born"? Let's do it! Here is the original version:
For the second cover song, well we want to have something a little bit vibey to pick up the mood. We intend to take our audience through a bit of a rollercoaster ride of emotions, but hopefully this song will be a fun one, complete with stompbox and kazoos. This is "Wake Me Up" by Avicii featuring Aloe Blacc! Here is the original version:
Finally it is time for us to play a brand new song that @clairemobey has written. You get the first peek of it before we play it in front of a live audience for the first time on Saturday! It uses bells in the intro to give it a lullaby-like quality, but it is actually a very emotional song called "Rock A Doo Bye Baby". I hope you like it!

It is interesting to note that I originally learnt both of today's cover songs, because they were requested of me for my own initiative on HIVE where I take cover requests! So... please look out for my weekly cover request post on Thursdays! If you make a song request in the comments, and then I attempt the song, you get rewarded with 50% of that post's rewards in HP!
