Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town, South Africa!
I am into the 22nd week of this challenging series of posts I have set myself for Thursdays! BUT I need your help to keep going please!
This is the challenge I'm setting myself every Thursday: I ask for cover song requests on the MUSIC community (make a comment on this post to take part by suggesting a song for me to try), and then I pick a favourite song to learn and post a live video of me attempting it. The person who asked for the winning song then gets 50% of the post rewards in HP! (If I pick a second song, that person gets 20% of the post rewards in HP as well!) It's as simple as that! (Well for everyone but me who then has to learn to sing and play new songs every week! Haha!)
Again, I got some awesome requests this week! This is really great! Please, if I did not select your song, please try ask for it, or a new song, again!
Part of my decision on what song to choose was based on equipment limitations this week. My main guitar is in the shop getting pick-ups fixed, and my back-up guitar is now ALSO (sigh) having problems, I think with its battery contact points. That means I must play completely unplugged for the time being, and choose a request that’s appropriate for that today…

Actually – full disclosure: this is a song I once tried two years ago and shared on YouTube. At the time I was challenging myself to find other interesting instruments to play besides a guitar. A friend of mine gave me an East African Island (eg. Madagascar) zither type instrument called a valiha and I gave it a shot on that!
