Ayer domingo me levanté súper dispuesto para salir y pasar un día junto a Jeremías, el día se mostró bueno desde sus inicios y fue cómplice para ejecutar una serie de diligencias que ameritaban un gran esfuerzo físico, caminar.

Yesterday, Sunday, I woke up super willing to go out and spend a day with Jeremías, the day was good from the beginning and was an accomplice to run a series of errands that required a great physical effort, walking.

Ahora mismo los días han sido bastante lluviosos, pero el domingo se prestó para regalarnos un cielo despejado con un sol radiante, ideal para salir a la ciudad, en este caso hacia el norte, el complejo habitacional Alí Primera, donde vive mi hijo Jeremías. Llegar no es nada sencillo, si se toma el transporte público, amerita realizar una travesía de aproximadamente dos horas, esto, por ahora.

Right now the days have been quite rainy, but Sunday lent itself to give us a clear sky with a radiant sun, ideal to go out into the city, in this case to the north, the Alí Primera housing complex, where my son Jeremías lives. Getting there is not easy at all, if you take public transportation, it takes about two hours to get there, this, for now.

Realmente fue una sorpresa para Jeremías porque no le avisé de mi visita, también debía hacer otras diligencias por la zona y no estaba asegurada la ida al urbanismo. Lo importante es que pude llegar antes de tiempo y sacar a Jere del apartamento para dar un recorrido a toda la urbanización, a los sitios más frecuentados, las áreas comunes donde se puede encontrar espacios con árboles ideales para sentarse y pasar la tarde conversando.

It was really a surprise for Jeremías because I did not let him know about my visit, I also had to do other errands in the area and I was not sure about going to the urbanization. The important thing is that I was able to arrive ahead of time and take Jere out of the apartment to take a tour of the entire urbanization, the most frequented places, the common areas where you can find spaces with trees ideal for sitting and spending the afternoon talking.

Un vecino de Jere se mudó de zona recientemente, pero mi hijo atento y muy inteligente, sabia exactamente la dirección. Aprovechamos de caminar por esos lados y para mi sorpresa nos encontramos a su amigo Sebastián. Para mi hijo fue algo natural, porque él iba super convencido que lo íbamos a encontrar y ahí estaba Seba, jugando con otros niños en la caminería de su torre. Fui incrédulo total, pero la convicción de mi hijo me recordó, claramente el viejo y conocido refrán, "primero pienso y luego existo". Bueno, ¡no es tan conocido! :)

A neighbor of Jere's recently moved out of the area, but my attentive and very smart son knew exactly the address. We took the opportunity to walk around those parts and to my surprise we met his friend Sebastian. For my son it was something natural, because he was super convinced that we were going to find him and there was Seba, playing with other children in the walkway of his tower. I was in total disbelief, but my son's conviction clearly reminded me of the old and well-known saying, “first I think and then I am”. Well, it's not that well known! :)

Sebastián, cuando era más pequeño y vivía al lado del apartamento, era un niño desobediente y retador de sus padres y nosotros hablábamos bastante con Jeremías para que no imitara esas conductas. Pero siempre Jere decía que era su amigo. Ahora, al ver a Seba, fue una grata sorpresa verlo bastante grande, maduro y más tranquilo, supongo que ya su comportamiento ha mejorado. Lo vi bastante bien, fue motivo de alegría ver sus caras cuando se miraron a los ojos y cada uno dio muestra de felicidad verdadera, genuina. Esa que a veces a nosotros los adultos nos cuesta tanto demostrar.

Sebastian, when he was younger and lived next door to the apartment, was a disobedient and defiant child to his parents and we used to talk to Jeremias a lot so he wouldn't imitate those behaviors. But Jere always said he was his friend. Now, when I saw Seba, it was a pleasant surprise to see him quite big, mature and calmer, I guess his behavior has improved. I saw him quite well, it was a joy to see their faces when they looked into each other's eyes and each one showed true, genuine happiness. The one that sometimes we adults find so hard to show.
