It's true, where you live shapes how you adapt.
Here in the Netherlands, water is a constant companion.
While the northern hemisphere might battle winter chills and equatorial regions deal with scorching heat, we Dutch folks face a different kind of challenge: rain. A lot of it!
Hey, it doesn't stop us from enjoying ourselves in nature.!
I knew I had to get my kids outside today since there was going to be a rare dry day.
A huge thank you goes out to the amazing parents who volunteered their cars to shuttle our "horde" of three-year-olds.
Keeping track of that much boundless energy at the petting zoo was a workout in itself, but seeing the pure joy on their faces as they petted chickens, rabbits, donkeys, goats, and cows made it all worthwhile.
They keep amazing me how open and fearless they always are.
Turning Puddles into Playgrounds
While the younger children enjoyed the adventures of the petting zoo, the larger children found another form of outdoor amusement throughout the day.
We have gotten so much rain lately that the earth is completely soaked.
Some puddles have transformed into miniature ponds, no longer just puddles!
Even the drains are overflowing, slowly transforming our playground into a temporary wading pool.
This situation highlights how well humans can adjust to difficult circumstances.
While the weather is out of our hands, we can choose how we see things.
ā
And it also doesn't seem like the rain will cease anytime soon.
But that's the beauty of humans ā our ability to adapt.
We'll find ways to have fun, even with a little extra water around!
Wishing you all the best in life and much health.
