Geocaching above Dražgoše

Another weekend has gone by. It was as beautiful as were all in these strange times.

After the morning run and a breakfast we went on a geocaching trip to the hills above the village of Dražgoše.

At first it was cloudy with few rain drops then the day turned to be sunny and warm.

In a good company we first visited the monument by the village. It is a memorial to the sacrifice of the villagers. The whole village was burned down during the second world war by German attackers in the winter of 1942.

First geocache of the day was hidden below the monument.

We found it quickly and earned a souvenir.

Then it was time to hike up the hill. Our first stop was Bičkova skala. It is a rock ledge above the village from where the partisans defended it.

After a quick find of the second cache we continued to climb and further up reached another ledge, Bela peč.

The view was fantastic.

The third geocache contained tracking bug which was a nice surprise.

We returned down to the starting point and went up the other side of the hill to Dražgoška gora.

Another fabulous view awaited us.

Of course, geocache was hidden and found here in the vicinity too.

By now, Puma was quite tired already.

After a break we went down to the cars and moved to Jamnik, also called the most beautiful balcony of Gorenjska region in Slovenia. Why? See for yourself.

This church overlooks the vast area and offers amazing views.

Yes, there was a geocache two hundred meters further on.

The last geocache yesterday was hidden near this strange spruce.

It's called the Snake spruce with its branches falling down softly instead of protruding outwards. Supposedly there are only eight trees of this kind in whole Slovenia.

Six geocaches and around ten kilometers hiked later we were able to admire this map.
