Happy Eastern Day

Eastern Day is a holiday celebrated by the Eastern Orthodox Church on the first Sunday after the first full moon following the Spring Equinox. It commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, which is considered the most important event in the Christian faith. The Eastern Orthodox Church follows the Julian calendar, which is about two weeks behind the Gregorian calendar used by Western Christianity. This means that Eastern Day falls on a different day than Easter Sunday celebrated by the Western Church. Eastern Day is also known as Pascha or Easter, and it is celebrated with great joy and solemnity in Orthodox Christian communities around the world. The celebrations usually begin with a midnight service on Saturday night, which is called the Resurrection Service. During the Resurrection Service, the priest blesses the congregation with holy water and carries a lit candle, symbolizing the light of Christ. The congregation then lights their own candles from the priest's candle, and the church is filled with the warm glow of candlelight. The Resurrection Service is followed by the Divine Liturgy, which is a celebration of the Holy Eucharist. The faithful gather to share in the bread and wine, which are believed to be the body and blood of Jesus Christ. After the service, families gather to share a festive meal .During this festival, people clean their homes, decorate with flowers, and prepare traditional dishes.
