April weather Review from my Weather Station
April was a bit of a strange month this time. The first 75% of the month was exceptionally dry, we only got very little rain during this time. The middle of April was basically summer, near 20C and above temperatures. That was absolutely great... until the plot twist at the end of the month when daily temperatures dropped below 10C again. The graphs below will be interesting to see!
Temperature and Humidity
The first week of April started up quite cold but that changed from the 7th. The coldest temperature got recorded on the 10th in the night at -3.4C. The warmest was on 25th April when 21.1 C was recorded. The average of the month was 5.3C. The nights still get very cold and bring down the average.
The lower graph is the air humidity. The air was its dryest on the 17th and got as dry as 28% at some point during the day. This is what you need to guess in the next weather game!
Solar Energy and UV
As you see solar energy is rising fast when the days get longer and the sun goes much higher. The UV radiation visits 7 on several days in the past month. This can burn your skin well. Very soon our night won't get dark anymore and will be bright on the horizon 24/7.
Rainfall
As you can see it rained very little in the past month, except in the end. Only 5.6mm in the first 24 days, it's nothing. Fire danger was a huge hazard then. Overall it rained 27.4mm in total in April, it's still not much. The upper graph is rain intensity and the lower graph is accumulation during the week and month.
Wind and directions
The average wind speed was actually below average this month, only 4.6m/s. The most windy was the first week and the strongest wind gues was recorded at 11.2m/s during that time. Not strong at all really. It starts to be quite clear that the nights are often with zero wind speeds. Summers are always like that, wind during the day and zero wind in the night.
The wind has mainly come from the north this time. In the second half mostly from the west.
Air pressure
Air pressure has mainly been on the high side, hence the great weather in the first part of the month. It sharply dropped in the lest part of the month and brought some cold temperatures and rainy weather. Didn't go below 1000hpa this month.
