## Caracas Blockchain Week 2023 (ES/ EN)

Hola Hivers,

Este fin de semana tuve la oportunidad por primera vez de asistir al Caracas Blockchain Week en su segunda edición. En su primera convocatoria, yo residía en Buenos Aires, Argentina y en su lugar asistí al Hive Meetup Argentina en el que nos explicaron qué era y cómo funcionaba la web 3, la Blockchain y el ecosistema de Hive.

La Universidad Católica Andrés Bello - mi Alma Mater- fue el escenario perfecto para profundizar los temas centrales de esta segunda edición del CBW : Bitcoin, criptomonedas, activos financieros, aplicaciones de la Blockchain, Web 3 y la importancia de la educación en esta nueva era tecnológica y de economía digital.

El evento fue dividido en 2 estaciones. La primera, denominada Libertex Stage tocó temas relacionados a las nuevas tecnologías, mercados financieros, bitcoin, criptomonedas, activos financieros y hacia dónde vamos en cuanto a economía y el valor del dinero. La segunda, denominada Education n Stage, exponía qué es y cómo funciona la Web 3, hacia dónde vamos en esta época, cómo adaptar estas nuevas tecnologías de la Blockchain de forma masiva y, por supuesto, la importancia de la capacitación profesional desde las escuelas, cursos técnicos y la incorporación al pensum de las carreras relacionadas con Informática, Economía, Contaduría y Administración.

Durante las ponencias y paneles se dio un amplio debate y análisis sobre el futuro del bitcoin y que la educación debe ir a la par con el avance de la tecnología. En los dos días del evento participaron ponentes invitados provenientes de Colombia, México, USA y Reino Unido –entre ellos el creador de 3speaktv- que alternaron con los ponentes venezolanos.

Anibal Garrido - Asesor en Criptoactivos y Coorganizador de la #CaracasBlockchainWeek, insistió mucho en reflexionar sobre el significado de la frase “sin tu llave, sin tu moneda”, explicando básicamente la importancia de proteger tus datos privados: no es recomendable delegar la llave o acceso a un tercero.

@arlettemsalase del ecosistema de Hive abrió el debate con la pregunta ¿Realmente somos dueños de nuestra identidad digital? En la Web 2.0 no, las redes sociales recolectan información de los usuarios y crean su identidad; en cambio en la Web 3.0 busca justamente que el usuario tenga la capacidad para construir su marca digital: “Hive es un ejemplo de eso”, dijo.

Escuchamos la ponencia de @danielvehe, miembro de Hive y asesor de imagen, quien habló de la educación y la Web 3.0. Insistió que ahora la tendencia es lo digital, por lo que la educación debe transformarse e ir a la par de la tecnología y dar respuestas a estos cambios. Por eso Hive desarrolló programas para apoyar a la educación desde las escuelas, para dar los primeros pasos en la Blockchain.

Desconozco varios de los temas que se presentaron en la mayoría de las ponencias, por lo que quedó en mi memoria investigar más sobre temas como ATH, Hardware Wallets, criptoactivos, minería, mercados financieros, liquidez en la nueva era –una energía que hay dentro un valor activo; finanzas descentralizadas, incluso de la misma Web 3.0 que está en desarrollo.

En los alrededores del Aula Magna pudimos visitar una serie de stands donde recibimos información sobre las tecnologías, herramientas y literatura abundante sobre el mundo de las criptomonedas. Gracias a la colaboración del equipo de protocolo de la UCAB que se encargaron de recibir y atender a los asistentes en las diferentes áreas del evento.

Caracas Blockchain Week 2023

This weekend I had the opportunity for the first time to attend the second edition of Caracas Blockchain Week. In its first call, I was residing in Buenos Aires, Argentina and instead I attended the Hive Meetup Argentina where they explained us what it was and how web 3, Blockchain and the Hive ecosystem worked.

The Universidad Católica Andrés Bello - my Alma Mater - was the perfect setting to deepen the central themes of this second edition of CBW: Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, financial assets, Blockchain applications, Web 3 and the importance of education in this new era of technology and digital economy.

The event was divided into 2 stations. The first, called Libertex Stage touched on topics related to new technologies, financial markets, bitcoin, cryptocurrencies, financial assets and where we are going in terms of economy and the value of money. The second, called Education n Stage, exposed what Web 3 is and how it works, where we are going in this era, how to adapt these new Blockchain technologies in a massive way and, of course, the importance of professional training from schools, technical courses and the incorporation to the curriculum of careers related to Computer Science, Economics, Accounting and Administration.

During the presentations and panels there was a broad debate and analysis on the future of bitcoin and that education must go hand in hand with the advancement of technology. During the two-day event, guest speakers from Colombia, Mexico, USA and UK -among them the creator of 3speaktv- alternated with Venezuelan speakers.

Anibal Garrido - Cryptoassets Advisor and Co-Organizer of the #CaracasBlockchainWeek, insisted a lot on reflecting on the meaning of the phrase "without your key, without your coin", basically explaining the importance of protecting your private data: it is not advisable to delegate the key or access to a third party.

@arlettemsalase from the Hive ecosystem opened the debate with the question "Do we really own our digital identity? Not in Web 2.0, social networks collect information from users and create their identity; on the other hand, in Web 3.0, the aim is precisely that the user has the ability to build their digital brand: "Hive is an example of that," he said.

We listened to the presentation of @danielvehe, member of Hive and image consultant, who spoke about education and Web 3.0. He insisted that now the trend is digital, so education must transform and go hand in hand with technology and provide answers to these changes. That is why Hive developed programs to support education from schools, to take the first steps in Blockchain.

I do not know several of the topics that were presented in most of the lectures, so it remained in my memory to investigate more about topics such as ATH, Hardware Wallets, cryptoassets, mining, financial markets, liquidity in the new era - an energy that is inside an active value; decentralized finance, even the same Web 3.0 that is in development.

In the surroundings of the Aula Magna we were able to visit a series of stands where we received information about technologies, tools and abundant literature about the world of cryptocurrencies. Thanks to the collaboration of the UCAB protocol team who were in charge of receiving and assisting the attendees in the different areas of the event.
