El miércoles fue un día especial. La comunidad cumplió un año de fundada. Cuando la pensamos hace más de tres años, jamás creímos que se haría realidad. Eran otros tiempos y otra blockchain. Fue dentro de #Hive que ese sueño pudo concretarse. La primera vez que pensamos en la posibilidad de crear una cofradía deportiva hispanohablante, fue a partir de un podcast que hacíamos en compañía de @enmy y otro usuario que no se nos viene ahora a la memoria. Nos divertíamos de lo lindo haciendo el programa para la comunidad @engranaje, cuna que nos cobijó cuando recién comenzamos en esto.
Wednesday was a special day. The community celebrated its first anniversary. When we thought of it more than three years ago, we never thought it would become a reality. Those were different times and a different blockchain. It was within #Hive that this dream could become a reality. The first time we thought about the possibility of creating a Spanish-speaking sports brotherhood, was from a podcast we did with @enmy and another user that does not come to mind now. We had a lot of fun doing the program for the @engranaje community, the cradle that sheltered us when we just started in this.
El programa lo hicimos durante unos ocho meses, pero sucedió lo que siempre sucede cuando la criptomoneda baja su cotización en el mercado: mucha gente abandonó. No tenía sentido seguir malgastando el tiempo en algo de lo que no había la participación de los usuarios. El podcast llegó a su fin. La segunda vez que creímos podíamos dar forma a algo tan largamente acariciado, fue cuando participamos en la comunidad @bloque64, promovida en su momento por @cervantes.
We ran the program for about eight months, but what always happens when a cryptocurrency drops in market value happened: a lot of people dropped out. It didn't make sense to keep wasting time on something where there was no user participation. The podcast came to an end. The second time we believed we could give shape to something so long-cherished, was when we participated in the @bloque64 community, promoted at the time by @cervantes.
Fue un tiempo pletórico. Allí nos formaríamos como curadores a la par que aprendíamos en @la-colmena. Teníamos en nuestro haber, la responsabilidad de curar las publicaciones relacionadas con: literatura, política y deportes. Todo iba muy bien, solo que nos dimos cuenta que las publicaciones deportivas no tenían suficiente respaldo. Por supuesto, el problema era el enfoque de los autores. Hacían prácticamente copias de los despachos noticiosos. Y eso no es creatividad, ni originalidad. Nosotros no nos podíamos quejar porque sí obteníamos respaldo.
It was a great time. There we would train as curators while learning at @la-colmena. We had the responsibility of curating publications related to: literature, politics and sports. Everything was going very well, only we realized that sports publications were not getting enough support. Of course, the problem was the approach of the authors. They were practically copying news dispatches. And that's not creativity, not originality. We could not complain because we did get support.
Pero no era así con los demás autores. Fue cuando reparamos que debía existir una comunidad dedicada a deportes, especializada en apoyar este contenido. Sin embargo, una cosa es lo que deseas y otra es la realidad. Una segunda época de precios bajos, se juntó con el hardfork-20 donde las comunidades fueron creadas de manera real. Es decir, que pudieran ser administradas desde la propia blockchain. Además, se sumó el problema que derivó en el hardfork-22 donde #Hive fue creada. Allí entró en pausa el proyecto @bloque64.
But this was not the case with other authors. That's when we realized that there should be a community dedicated to sports, specialized in supporting this content. However, one thing is what you want and another is reality. A second era of low prices, came together with the hardfork-20 where communities were created in a real way. That is, they could be managed from the blockchain itself. In addition, there was added the problem that derived in hardfork-22 where #Hive was created. There, the @block64 project came to a halt.

@sportstalksocial había nacido desde la blockchain anterior. Era la comunidad deportiva angloparlante. Así que la mayoría del apoyo llegaba a quienes escribían en ese idioma. Respaldada por @ocd, fue después de la entrada de #Hive que dicha comunidad se potenció. Pero seguía habiendo desventaja para quienes escribíamos en español. Luego del hardfork-22 pasaron dos meses antes que la pandemia fuera declarada a nivel mundial, los estadios y canchas quedaron vacíos. No tenía sentido crear "Full Deportes" sin actividad deportiva por analizar u opinar.
@sportstalksocial had been born from the previous blockchain. It was the English-speaking sports community. So most of the support came from those who wrote in that language. Backed by @ocd, it was after the entry of #Hive that such a community was empowered. But there was still a disadvantage for those of us who wrote in Spanish. After hardfork-22 it took two months before the pandemic was declared worldwide, stadiums and courts were empty. It made no sense to create "Full Deportes" with no sports activity to analyze or comment on.
Cuando comenzó amainar lo peor de la pandemia y vimos una luz que comenzaba alumbrar sobre la vuelta de la actividad deportiva, en las ligas profesionales, decidimos que era tiempo de comenzar. Creamos la cuenta y sin respaldo alguno echamos andar la comunidad. Luego de ello, comenzamos a buscar el respaldo de los mecenas. Llevé nuestra idea a @eddiespino y me alentó a presentar una aplicación como líder de comunidad en #Hive. Dicha solicitud fue aprobada por @theycallmedan y obtuvimos el primer mecenazgo para "Full Deportes"
When the worst of the pandemic began to subside and we saw a light beginning to shine on the return of sports activity in the professional leagues, we decided it was time to start. We created the account and without any backing we started the community. After that, we started looking for backing from sponsors. I took our idea to @eddiespino and he encouraged me to submit an application as a community leader on #Hive. Said application was approved by @theycallmedan and we got the first sponsorship for "Full Deportes."

Poco a poco, fuimos incorporando otros mecenas mediante conversaciones privadas. @bluemist le encantó la idea y sin promesa de voto alguno, pero con su palabra empeñada en revisar nuestro feed, también comenzó a colaborar en el apoyo. Luego, el trabajo de los autores fue atrayendo más mecenazgos: @cervantes se incorporó, luego el turno le tocó a @ocd mediante alguno de sus curadores, al cuál le gustó lo que veía en el feed. Por último y no menos importante, @aliento se agregó a la gran aventura de construir junto a nosotros una comunidad increíble.
Little by little, we incorporated other patrons through private conversations. @bluemist loved the idea and without any promise of a vote, but with his word to review our feed, he also began to collaborate in the support. Then, the authors' work was attracting more patronage: @cervantes joined in, then it was @ocd's turn through one of his curators, who liked what he saw in the feed. Last, but not least, @aliento joined the great adventure of building together with us an incredible community.
Ahora, ésta historia no estaría completa sin el esfuerzo denodado de los autores. Son ellos quienes ponen las neuronas para marcar la diferencia. De nada sirve crear la comunidad, tener la disposición de servir y conseguir los mecenazgos, si nadie publica en el feed. Los creadores de contenido son los verdaderos héroes de ésta historia y a ellos va nuestro más profundo agradecimiento. Ustedes han ayudado a dar forma a una comunidad que superó nuestras expectativas de hace un año. Sigamos construyendo.
Now, this story would not be complete without the hard work of the authors. They are the ones who put the neurons to make the difference. It is useless to create the community, be willing to serve and get the patronage, if no one publishes in the feed. The content creators are the real heroes of this story and to them goes our deepest thanks. You have helped shape a community that exceeded our expectations of a year ago. Let's keep building.
