(This has been in my drafts for quite sometime. Life latey has been giving me lemons, so I took the time to make some lemonade. Anyway, this is long overdue but here it is.)
Mid-year In-Service Training provides teachers with opportunities to help them improve their teaching skills, be updated with the new programs initiated by the higher office, and acquaint themselves with the additional skills and teaching approaches necessary as they cater the needs of their diverse learners. In short, it gives teachers avenues as they continue their pursuit of excellence.
Disclaimer: This blog is not all about INSET learning insights. It is about INSET snacks/food review.🤣✌️
Again, this blog is not focused on what I have learned from the five-day seminar. This will be about the equally important factor that one should consider when having a training. We do not just need brilliant speakers, conducive and comfortable venues, and engaging topics. We can participate well and we learn better when our stomach isn't empty.
Day 1-Morning and Afternoon Snacks
I was in the town, paying the tax of my house so when I went to school, I brought pieces of bread that we shared in our morning and afternoon snacks. I didn't take photos because why should I?😂 Kidding aside! We were busy and too focused on the seminar that later on, we realized, we needed a good set of food to survive this week-long activity!
So, we planned ahead on what to serve during our break time. (My big thanks to our preggy ADAS on preparing these mouth-watering snacks!)
Let's talk about Days 2-5 snacks!
Day 2- Morning
Goldilocks Cake Slice and Iced Coffee
The right amount of sweetness of the cake perfectly matched with the tasty iced coffee. Truly a perfect pair to help us maintain our focus and energy as we continue to delve into the various topics of this training.
And true enough, it gave them the energy to impart and share their knowledge.
Day 2- Afternoon
Slice bread with pansit and Iced Tea with Sliced Lemon
These snacks were quite heavy but a much needed one because of the nerve-wracking outputs that we have to submit. The deadline was the following day! Oh gosh, but we never say No!
Day 3-Morning
Bread with Hotdog, Ketchup, Cucumber and Cheese and C2
This was so refreshing. It didn't only refresh our taste buds, but also our minds. It gave us the kick to continue learning and improving ourselves.
She is synonymous to VOICES OF THE VERB.😂 Sometimes active, sometimes passive but this time she didn't have the excuse. She was given the microphone and the snacks later on!😂
Day 3-Afternoon
Camote Cue, Crackers and Iced Tea
There was a right amount of sweetness from the camote cue that helped tickled our senses as we continue to participate and discuss Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS.) The salty crackers gave balance to the taste. The iced tea made us burp!
Day 4-Morning and Afternoon
Banana Turon and Apple Iced Tea
We had the same set of snacks because the sponsor was quite generous enough in bringing the whole harvested ripe bananas! Who are we to complain?🤣
Day 5- Morning
Slice bread with pansit and Iced Tea with Sliced Lemon
This was the last day of our seminar. Two of my colleagues would have their demonstration and would be critiqued afterwards. To give them the energy in nailing their demonstration, we agreed to have this full-packed snacks. And yes, indeed, they almost perfected their demo teaching.
United as one, we participated well in their demonstration.
Day 5-Lunch
Fried Chicken and Veggies
It was extra special because we'll be back to reality the following day - back to classroom duties. To make this last day of the training memorable, we included a free-lunch for every participant. Yeeey!
Day 5- Afternoon
Fries, Bread and Fruit Shake
We were in our concluding activity and these set of snacks left us in a bang! It was a wrap! Our mind and stomach were equally full!
The five-day seminar ended with so much to apply and reflect on especially in the teaching-learning process. We ended the training with our hearts and minds full of new learnings and our stomach, full of sumptuous food!
Indeed, when the stomach is full, the mind works well!
This is all for today's blog. Thank you for the constant suppport. Be safe everyone! Until the netswriting.
