It’s been a while since I and my wife enjoyed ourselves on a trip without the kids. The time with the two little beasts is great, but we really cannot have a single moment in silence to enjoy ourselves. So this 3 day vacation to the Bulgarians seaside was the ultimate escape from the everyday’s activities with the kids.
The first day we arrived a bit late in the afternoon so when we checked in the hotel, we decided to go to the nearby beach, which was 10-minute walk away from the place we booked.
My wife decided to go for a Shumensko lager beer, but I chose a Burgsko beer, which is brewed by Kamenitza. These are among the several commercial breweries, which are producing the golden liquid in Bulgaria. I can say more of the Bulgarian commercial beers are of a good quality. Of course, nowhere near to a good craft beer, but for about 0,6 $ you cannot expect much. The thing that makes these beers so enjoyable was the place of consumption. Bulgaria has a lot of good beaches with very fine sand. The Black Sea is not so salty like Mediterranean, but still good to swim around.
On this beach there were a lot of seaweed due to the rough seas and the waves, but luckily on the next day everything was perfect and we had the chance to enjoy very peaceful waters.
The next two days we were able to visit some more distant beaches, but they were relatively close to our hotel. The campings we visited are among the top rated in Bulgaria and the best part is, that in the local supermarkets there were some pretty good imported beers like Paulaner. And given the fact these supermarkets were located literally in the nothing, or at least 30-40 kilometers from the big city, there was a great availability of beers at very reasonable prices. I think this classical weiss cost about 1,5$, which I did not expect at all.
Of course, this German beer was quite a lot more enjoyable than the Bulgarian commercials, but after all the style is different too. The beaches on the campings we found better as well. The sand was even finer and clean too. And these beac lines are very wide and long as well. And being without the kids, made our experience great. I can tell, that I missed all these regular questions and constant awareness and the beach stays were almost endless, but we managed to take a good rest.
This will end my post now, and I really look forward to our next vacation without the kids. Don’t get me wrong, I missed the kids too, but there must be some balance somewhere.
