In my case, I am here to share with you a day I had at the National College of Journalists in Los Teques, Miranda State, Venezuela.
En mi caso vengo a compartirle un día de pauta que tuve en el colegio nacional de periodistas en la sede de los Teques en el estado Miranda en Venezuela.
The NGO REDESAYUDA which I am part of the team is organizing a digital security workshops for young journalists and also with much seniority in the office due to new technologies and new social networks that arise at every moment. In many cases they do not know what privacy policies and how safe are these applications, social networks and new websites, that is why they decided to dictate these workshops in order to inform and teach security methods, that paying attention to the workshop I learned that there are many ways to make your email accounts and instant messaging applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram are safe, are issues of settings that sometimes one ignores by only using the application for a single purpose without taking into account all the valuable information that is handled through it and that can be stolen by anyone.
La ONG REDESAYUDA la cual soy parte del equipo está organizando unos talleres de seguridad digital para los periodistas jóvenes y también con mucha antigüedad en el oficio debido a las nuevas tecnologías y nuevas redes sociales que surgen a cada momento. En muchos casos se desconocen qué políticas de privacidad y que tan seguros son estas aplicaciones, redes sociales y sitios web nuevos, es por eso que decidieron dictar estos talleres de manera de informar y enseñar métodos de seguridad, que prestando atención al taller aprendí que hay muchas maneras de hacer tus cuentas de correo y aplicaciones de mensajería instantánea como WhatsApp, Telegram sean seguras, son cuestiones de configuraciones que a veces uno ignora por solamente usar la aplicación con un solo fin sin tomar en cuenta toda la información valiosa que se maneja a través de ella y que puede ser robada por cualquier persona.
Many of the journalists who attended told several of their cases in which information was stolen from their social networks, were hacked or were harassed by these same hackers in different social networks with only them having their phone number, there were several cases that may sound silly but are worrying for all the personal information that is in the networks of all people and one without knowing what you have all that information exposed and anyone can know it with a click.
Muchos de los periodistas que asistieron contaron varios de sus casos en lo que se le robó información de sus redes sociales,eran hackeadas o eran acosadas por estos mismos hackers en diferentes redes sociales con solamente ellos tener su numero de teléfono, fueron varios casos que pueden sonar tontos pero son preocupantes por toda la información personal qué hay en las redes de todas las personas y uno sin saber qué tienes toda esa información expuesta y cualquier puede saberla con un click.
One of the objects that was very interesting how it works and how it gives you an extra step of security is one called yubikeys, from what I understood it is a kind of pendrive where you save your passwords and then you associate it with the websites or messaging sites that you want and to enter them you must enter your password that you use to enter normally and then enter the yubikeys that becomes another step of security to let you enter the web page.
Uno de los objetos que fue muy interesante el cómo funciona y como te brinda un paso más de seguridad es uno llamado yubikeys, por lo que entendí es una especie de pendrive en donde tu guardas tus contraseñas y luego lo asocias con los sitios web o de mensajería que tú desees y para ingresar en ellos debes colocar tu contraseña que usas para ingresar normalmente y luego ingresas la yubikeys que se transforma en otro paso de seguridad para dejarte entrar a la página web.
Another thing that kept me distracted for a while was the structure of the roof, it was made of wood and the lines that made up the roof and the union between it looked very harmonious, it looked like a symbol that refers to the sun.
Otra cosa que mantuvo distraído un rato fue la estructura del techo era de madera y las líneas que componían el techo la unión entre ella se veía muy armónico, parecía un símbolo que hace referencia al sol.
It was a very productive day since I was able to take good photos that soon I will publish here on Hive and on the other hand will be published and shown to various entities related to journalism to be able to dictate these workshops in several states of Venezuela, which if so I hope to continue sharing the different experiences in each workshop and in each place in which they are dictated.
Fue un día muy productivo ya que pude sacar buenas fotos que pronto de mi parte las publicaré por aquí por Hive y por otra parte serán publicadas y mostrada a varios entes relacionados con periodismo para poder dictar estos talleres en varios estados de Venezuela, qué de ser así espero seguir compartiéndoles las diferentes experiencias en cada taller y en cada lugar en lo que se dicten.
