Creo que es un hecho público y notorio que el pasado domingo 28 de julio de 2024 se llevaron a cabo elecciones presidenciales en Venezuela. Para resumir un poco el cuento el 22 de octubre del año 2023 la oposición venezolana realizó las llamadas “elecciones primarias” donde resultó ganadora María Corina Machado, pero resulta que el gobierno la inhabilitó para ejercer cargos públicos en el país, por lo que ella tuvo que ceder su candidatura a Edmundo González Urrutia quien se convirtió en el abanderado de la Mesa de la Unidad Democrática y tendría la responsabilidad de enfrentarse al candidato oficialista Nicolás Maduro.

Ahora bien, después de muchos acontecimientos previos a las elecciones y una campaña electoral muy desigual llegó el tan esperado día. Pero los días previos a la elección no se hablaba de otra cosa en las calles, la gente solo pensaba en lo que iba a suceder, realizaron compras nerviosas, se notaba las filas en estaciones de servicio para abastecer combustible e incluso las personas recolectaron agua y otras cosas más. No obstante, mi gran sorpresa fue el día sábado 27 en la noche, cuando comenzaron a realizar la fila para ejercer su derecho al voto lo más temprano posible el día domingo, ya que esa era la recomendación dada por la líder de la oposición venezolana.

Este acontecimiento me generó un gran estrés, porque mientras toda mi familia vota en un centro, a mi me corresponde ejercer mi derecho al voto en un centro diferente, además que me toca totalmente sola. Me llegaron mensajes con videos correspondiente a mi centro de votación y la fila era cada vez más larga, pero lamentablemente yo no me podía ir tan temprano ya que debía hacer algo importante antes de ir a votar. Bueno, la verdad es que no pude dormir muy bien esa noche, se sentía mucho movimiento en la calle, personas que caminaban con almohadas, sillas y otras cosas más. Justo a las 4 am se escuchó un fuerte cohete y de allí no pude dormir más y también a esa hora sale mi papa a hacerle la cola al resto de mi familia. En ese momento me levanté y me arreglé lo mejor que pude, porque quería dejar muy en claro mi posición política.
This event caused me great stress, because while all my family votes in one center, it is my turn to exercise my right to vote in a different center, and I am totally alone. I received messages with videos corresponding to my voting center and the line was getting longer and longer, but unfortunately I could not leave so early because I had to do something important before going to vote. Well, the truth is that I could not sleep very well that night, I could feel a lot of movement in the street, people walking with pillows, chairs and other things. Just at 4 am a loud rocket was heard and from there I could not sleep anymore and also at that time my dad goes out to make the queue to the rest of my family. At that time I got up and dressed up as best I could, because I wanted to make my political position very clear.
Bueno, desde hace seis semanas aproximadamente me encontraba realizando una taller en la iglesia donde me congrego, se trataba de un taller denominado “Padres Espirituales” básicamente es una capacitación para poder impartir clases básicas antes de que puedan bautizarse. Pero ese día era la última clase, se realizaría un cierre y luego un compartir para darle la bienvenida a las vacaciones.
Well, about six weeks ago I was doing a workshop in the church where I congregate, it was a workshop called “Spiritual Parents” basically is a training to teach basic classes before they can be baptized. But that day was the last class, there would be a closing and then a sharing to welcome the vacations.
La reunión terminó a las 10 am y yo inmediatamente me fui pero para mi sorpresa la ciudad estaba desolada, no había nada de transporte público así que me tocó esperar un rato. Al fin llegué a mi centro de votación y cuando comencé a caminar buscando el último de la fila pude ver que me tocaba realizar más o menos cuatro cuadras de fila. Me incorporé a mi lugar con mi respectivo banquito y la verdad es que la fila no corría mucho, pero después de una hora más o menos comenzó a movilizarse.
The meeting ended at 10 am and I immediately left but to my surprise the city was desolate, there was no public transportation so I had to wait for a while. I finally arrived at my polling place and when I started to walk to the back of the line I could see that I had to wait in line for about four blocks. I joined my place with my respective bench and the truth is that the line did not run long, but after an hour or so it began to move.
Al principio las personas alrededor se encontraban muy calladas y pues yo también, recordando años anteriores que siempre se encontraban personas afectas al gobierno que se tornaban muy agresivas. Sin embargo, hubo un señor que dijo que ya no se aguantaba la situación del país mientras que otra señora le respondió que era verdad, entonces entendí que podía hablar así que comenzamos a conversar libremente y todo el mundo se animó a expresar sus sentimientos y esa sed de cambio. Mientras conversábamos, me llegó apoyo moral, es decir, mi hermana @kiutvariedades.
At first the people around were very quiet and so was I, remembering previous years that there were always people affected by the government who became very aggressive. However, there was a man who said that he could not stand the situation in the country any longer, while another lady replied that it was true, then I understood that I could speak so we began to talk freely and everyone was encouraged to express their feelings and thirst for change. Pero lo mejor estaba por venir, y es que el gobernador del estado Lara Adolfo Pereira también le corresponde votar en mi centro electoral, pasada la una de la tarde hizo acto de presencia para ejercer su derecho al sufragio, pero yo creo que nunca se imaginó que iba a ser recibido de la manera que fue. Las personas que se encontraban dentro del centro comenzaron a gritar “este gobierno va a caer” acompañado de abucheos e insultos y justo cuando se dirigía a subir a su vehículo las personas que se encontraban en la calle le lanzaron agua, dejando claro su repudio a este sistema. Ya para este momento, me encontraba más cerca de la puerta, habían pasado aproximadamente cuatro horas.
But the best was yet to come, the governor of the state of Lara Adolfo Pereira also had to vote in my electoral center, after one o'clock in the afternoon he showed up to exercise his right to vote, but I think he never imagined that he would be received the way he was. The people inside the center began to shout “this government is going to fall” accompanied by boos and insults, and just as he was about to get into his vehicle, the people on the street threw water at him, making clear their repudiation of this system. By this time, I was closer to the door, approximately four hours had passed.
Una vez entré a la institución el proceso fue sumamente fácil y rápido, llegué a mi mesa correspondiente, entre mi cédula de identidad, coloque mi huella, desbloquearon la máquina, salió el tarjetón electoral, realice la selección y la máquina arrojó el papel. Con mucha fe lo doble y lo introduje a la caja electoral, firmé el cuaderno y me entregaron mi cédula de identidad. Una vez termine con el proceso me despedí de todas las personas que allí estaban y salí muy feliz del centro.
Once I entered the institution the process was extremely easy and fast, I arrived at my corresponding table, I entered my identity card, I put my fingerprint, they unlocked the machine, the electoral card came out, I made the selection and the machine threw the paper. With a lot of faith I folded it and put it in the electoral box, signed the booklet and they gave me my identity card. Once I finished the process I said goodbye to all the people who were there and left the center very happy.
De allí me fui a mi casa, ya para la publicación de este post todos sabemos lo que está ocurriendo en el país, pero no tocaremos ese tema en este momento, ya que quiero expresar y compartir mi experiencia de alegría, ilusión y satisfacción vivido ese día.
