Emigrating involves a mountain of procedures, validations, certifications, paperwork, permits, residency, nationality, and all their related matters. This process can be exhausting, overwhelming, and even frustrating at times. Each new document seems to trigger an endless chain of additional requirements, turning the process into something seemingly infinite.
However, I want to make it clear that I’m not complaining; I just need to vent to release tension and move forward. I recognize that, fortunately, everything has been going quite smoothly from the start. Nevertheless, the overwhelming amount of tasks can make it seem like this path has no end. For example, today I had to deal with paperwork at the Venezuelan Consulate. Out of the three I had planned, I could only complete one due to an error in the appointment scheduling system. So now, I have to wait for a new appointment to continue the process, which, just like a house of cards, disrupts the timelines of other procedures, and so on.
It’s true that it can be frustrating, but over time I’ve learned to distinguish between what I can control and what I can’t. I understand that spending energy worrying about what is beyond my reach is useless; it would just be unnecessary stress. Whenever there’s a solution, even if it’s not immediate, I prefer to stay calm, let everything flow, and avoid unnecessary stress.
My past self would have been dominated by anxiety, but not anymore. I go out for a walk, breathe fresh air, and then, more relaxed, with a calm mind, I analyze the situation, evaluate the options, and act accordingly. No rush, but no pause either. Furthermore, in that mindset, watching other people being active, enjoying nature, gives me super positive and motivating energy. In the end, everything passes.
