¡Hola Chicos!
Estaba por terminar el año y por supuesto debíamos comenzar con la planificación de todo el contenido que se impartiría en el segundo nivel de dibujo y pintura.
Yo y la otra maestra de pintura de la academia éramos las encargadas de hacerlo, pero una noticia me llegó de sorpresa (aunque no tanto porque la verdad lo veía venir desde un principio), ella renunció.
El punto es que no se le iba a buscar reemplazo como tal sino que se me asignó el grupo ya existente, cosa que me pareció excelente porque significa que tengo más trabajo y entre más alumnos tengo mejores serán mis ganancias.
La primera clase fue el pasado sábado y les voy a contar como me fue ese día. La verdad yo estaba algo nerviosa porque no sabía como podría impactar a las niñas al saber que su maestra se había retirado.

The year was coming to an end and of course we had to start planning all the content that would be taught in the second level of drawing and painting.
Me and the other painting teacher at the academy were the ones in charge of doing it, but the news came as a surprise (although not so much because the truth is that I saw it coming from the beginning), she resigned.
The point is that I wasn't going to look for a replacement as such, but rather I was assigned to the existing group, which I thought was excellent because it means I have more work and the more students I have the better my earnings will be.
The first class was last Saturday and I am going to tell you how it went that day. I was a bit nervous because I didn't know how it would impact the girls when I found out that their teacher had left.
La clase era a las 4 de la tarde, salí antes porque me tocaba agarrar el transporte público. La otra sede de la academia queda algo retirada de mi casa.
Había un sol nada normal a la hora que salí pero no es un mal de morir, aunque ese día estaba un poco más acalorada de lo normal porque se había ido la electricidad a la 1 de la tarde.
The class was at 4 p.m. I left early because I had to take public transport. The other part of the academy is a bit far from my house.
The sun was not at all normal at the time I left, but it was not too bad, although that day it was a bit hotter than usual because the electricity had gone out at 1pm.
Al llegar ya una de las niñas había llegado y justo al pararme frente a la academia llegó la electricidad (es que sin electricidad no hubiera sido posible dar clases).
Como no tenía ni idea de que era lo que habían aprendido con la anterior maestra, le hice una serie de preguntas para orientarme en cuanto al contenido que debo reforzar con ellas.
Como actividad para el día tenía planificado que hicieran una portada que diera inicio al segundo nivel.
La idea era dividir la hoja de su blog de dibujo en cuatro secciones y en el centro hacer unas letras burbuja que dijeran "2do Nivel".
Al rato llegó la otra niña y ambas comenzaron a trabajar en sus dibujos.
When I arrived, one of the girls had already arrived and just as I stood in front of the academy, the electricity arrived (without electricity it would not have been possible to teach).
As I had no idea what they had learned with the previous teacher, I asked her a series of questions to guide me as to what content I should reinforce with them.
As an activity for the day, I had planned for them to make a cover sheet to start the second level.
The idea was to divide the page of their drawing blog into four sections and in the centre make bubble letters that read "2nd Level".
Soon the other girl arrived and they both started working on their drawings.
Ellas tenían algunos de los conocimientos aprendidos presentes pero otros no tanto y me tocó reforzarlos en el momento.
Aunque el dibujo y la pintura son actividades prácticas, siempre es importante tener claro y presente la teoría pues nos ayudan a mejorar y trazar un rumbo para nuestra obra de arte.
Estas son cositas que iremos practicando con el pasar de las clases y con la constancia en su práctica permanecerán en sus cabecitas. 😊
They had some of the knowledge they had learned but not so much others and I had to reinforce it on the spot.
Although drawing and painting are practical activities, it is always important to have the theory clear and present, as it helps us to improve and chart a course for our work of art.
These are little things that we will be practising with the passing of the classes and with constancy in their practice they will remain in their little heads. 😊
Estas chicas tenían una manera muy particular de trabajar. Les encanta contar historias de su vida, no paraban de contarme cosas y se reían mucho.
Yo por supuesto me divertí mucho con todas sus locuras, eran muy ocurrentes jajaja. Solo que de vez en cuando me tocaba recordarles que continuaran pintando porque se adentraban mucho en su historia y se les olvidaba lo que estaban haciendo.
Otra cosa bien divertida que acostumbran hacer durante clases es escuchar música, cosa que me parece chévere porque la música es un medio para mantenernos inspirados mientras estamos dibujando o pintando.
These girls had a very particular way of working. They love to tell stories about their lives, they kept telling me things and they laughed a lot.
I of course had a lot of fun with all their crazy things, they were very witty hahaha. I just had to remind them from time to time to continue painting because they got so deep into their story that they forgot what they were doing.
Another fun thing they usually do during class is listen to music, which I think is great because music is a way to keep us inspired while we are drawing or painting.
Las niñas la estaban pasando tan bien que cuando se acercaba la hora de irse a casa me hicieron saber que no querían irse, y les gustaría seguir pintando y echando sus cuentos.
Por desgracia yo no podía extender más ese tiempo porque debía tomar el transporte público, y como he comentado en post anteriores, luego de las 6 de la tarde es un poco complicado.
Ya a las 6 y 20 llegaron a buscar a las niñas y nos retiramos a nuestras casas. Los trabajos quedaron inconclusos pero les quedó como tarea para el hogar, ya pronto les estaré compartiendo como les quedó su trabajo.
The girls were having such a good time that when it was getting close to the time to go home they let me know that they didn't want to leave, and would like to continue painting and telling their stories.
Unfortunately I couldn't extend that time because I had to take public transport, and as I've said in previous posts, after 6pm it's a bit complicated.
At 6.20 pm they came to pick up the girls and we retired to our homes. The work was left unfinished but it was left as homework, and soon I will be sharing with you how their work turned out.
Salimos y por suerte aún no había oscurecido, la verdad eso me puso un tantito nerviosa pero las últimas veces que he salido me he dado cuenta que el transporte aún está pasando a esas horas.
Me paré en la avenida y en cuestión de minutos ya estaba de vuelta a casa.
Para ser la primera clase con las niñas siento que me fue muy bien, ellas estaban a gusto y sé que de aquí en adelante solo nos esperan experiencias lindas.
Quedo muy contenta por haberlo logrado y bueno, logré superar el primer gran reto de este año, que era ser aceptada por estas niñas como su maestra de pintura.

We went out and luckily it wasn't dark yet, to be honest that made me a bit nervous but the last few times I've gone out I've noticed that the transport is still passing by at that time of day.
I stopped on the avenue and in a matter of minutes I was on my way home.
For the first class with the girls I feel that it went very well, they were at ease and I know that from now on there are only nice experiences ahead of us.
I am very happy to have achieved it and well, I managed to overcome the first big challenge of this year, which was to be accepted by these girls as their painting teacher.
