I made several drone videos and pics at the Flagler Beach (Florida) reclamation project this weekend. Following the lead from 
I've been wanting to get more beach shots for awhile, and to check in on this beach reclamation project for the last month. Well, I finally was able to sneak some time in to take the drone out.
The first shot here is a hyperlapse of the construction crew. It was shot with settings of a shot every 2 seconds, over about 8 minutes. It was over 250 photos automatically taken, then compiled automagically into the hyperlapse you see here. For this shot, I reduced the time between photos, and just let the drone hover in position while shooting instead of trying to fly around. It made for a much smoother shot this time vs. my last attempt.
This next one clearly shows the Old to new beach transformation. You can see the old narrow reddish color sand replaced by the much wider, more gray color sand.
This one is just another short look at the beach and comparing the old and new contrast.
Finally, here is a pull-away shot of the Flagler Beach Pier that also shows the construction and a portion of the completed area. Given the pace they are working, they should reach the pier today or later this week depending on the Hurricane Debbie delays. We're not getting much other than an extra few inches of rain, but you can see the clouds building up in the background.
and then of course a few still shots of the beach areas. This first one further South, where the restoration work already completed near the state park.
In these, you can see areas already completed and the "new" beach area created at the gray line and beyond.
In the distance, you can see the Flagler Pier. I know the project is going up at least that far, but not sure if they are continuing North from there or if it will stop.
Here is a closer view of the pier. It is still closed due to damage from storms last year.
This last one you can really see how much wider the reclaimed beach is vs the narrow brown at the bottom right.
Water is not near as clear as normal, it is unusually dirty from all the dredging off-shore and being stirred up from the storm. Even though not our typical sunny day, I still enjoyed getting out very much and had a great time flying around!
I do have a much longer video that goes all the way from the state park up to the pier, but will save that for later. May put some music on that one :)
