I recently took a chance to fly at twilight in the city. On this particular warm summers eve, the air was perfectly still and there were little to no boats motoring along besides the Uber ones.
I knew exactly what shot I wanted and aimed to get there before the sun was set but unfortunately, by the time I arrived and got set up, it had already disappeared.
However, I was lucky to see the remaining light in the reflection of the high rise glass structures of Canary Wharf on such a clear night.
My take off location was foreshore on a small beach to the west of the wharf. One of a few places is out of the way and isn't really overlooked by apartments.
Below is a single shot with a small amount of editing to bring out the details and colours a little. The low light is very challenging for the Mini 2.
Seen below is a before and after edit panorama of eight images stacked together with different exposures.
I don't understand why there appears to be a seam line in the sky in the centre and river to the left.
It doesn't look too bad in the raw pano but the more I edited, the more it was made apparent although the healing tool helped a bit.
Is it the result of me not being consistent with setting the exposure to the same level for each shot I took?
Not all was lost though as what I saw when I turned the drone 180 degrees almost floored me.
This is up there with my top favourite images I have ever taken.
This is a 40 image panorama of twilight whispy cloud awesomeness.
Onwards and upwards!
Take care everyone.
