And we start the new year with another visit to the Legal Wall de Rouen à Montréal in September. The artists were in full creative mode. Everything was changing rapidly, with many fine works. I had to stop by in the middle of the week, and some of the works had already been covered over or lightly tagged. To enjoy the best works, it's best to stop by on Monday or Tuesday morning.

Et nous commençons la nouvelle année avec une nouvelle visite du Mur Légal de Rouen à Montréal pendant le mois de septembre. Les artistes étaient en pleine création. Tout changeait rapidement avec plusieurs œuvres de qualité. J'ai dû passer au milieu de la semaine et certaines œuvres avaient été déjà recouvertes ou légèrement tagguées. Pour profiter des meilleures œuvres, il faut mieux passer le lundi ou le mardi matin.

WHERE

On rue de Rouen at railway level in Montreal. Just a reminder: Mur légal Rouen is a place where artists can draw in peace, as the activity is permitted by the city. The red lines on the map represent other walls where Street Art can be found.

WHO

We began our visit always in the same direction. The first work had held out for a few days, as it was already there when I visited before (see StreetArt #661).

Nous commençons la visite toujours dans le même sens. La première oeuvre avait résisté quelques jours car elle était déjà présente lors de mon passage précédent (voir StreetArt #661).

Vagoe

Vagoe, a Montreal-based artist and tattooist, has again produced two superb black-and-white portraits. In 2023, we were lucky enough to see him paintthis wall several times: StreetArt #657 and StreetArt #650.

Vagoe, artiste et tatoueur basé à Montréal, a encore réalisé deux superbes portraits en noir et blanc. En 2023, nous avons eu de la chance de le voir passer plusieurs fois par ce mur : StreetArt #657 et StreetArt #650.

Le Polographe

Right next door, Paul Gautier aka Le Polographe, art director in the video game industry and artist made this Corgi. He also left quite a few characters this year under this viaduct, a whole family 😀.

Juste à côté, Paul Gautier aka Le Polographe, directeur artistique dans l'industrie du jeux vidéo et artiste a réalisé ce Corgi. Il a laissé aussi pas mal de personnages cette année sous ce viaduc, une famille entière 😀.

Aldarwin & Unknown

In the middle of the viaduct, we find a regular, Aldarwin, a Mexican artist who likes to paint here. Right next to it, there's this magnificent portrait of an unknown artist, unfortunately a little tagged. And other stencils to promote the film Ma Cité Evincée, a documentary that "explores the human impact of real estate speculation in Montreal". Sounds like an interesting subject, a real problem housing in the city...

Au milieu du viaduc, on retrouve un habitué, Aldarwin, artiste mexicain qui aime peindre dans ce lieu. Juste à côté, il y a ce magnifique portrait d'un(e) artiste inconnu(e), malheureusement un peu taggué. Et autre des pochoirs pour la promotion du film Ma Cité Evincée, un documentaire qui "explore l’impact humain de la spéculation immobilière à Montréal". Cela semble intéressant comme sujet, un vrai problème le logement en ville...

Origami & Rest

Origami with his usual poetic work: "The bird free to go anywhere, the whole sky is its freedom...", followed by Rest on a very colorful background. I like it.

Origami avec comme son habitude une œuvre remplie de poésie : « L’oiseau libre d'aller partout, le ciel tout entier est sa liberté… », suivi de Rest sur un fond très coloré. J'aime beaucoup.

Macak

*And below Scan, it's Macak with the famous Inspector Gadget... just looking at it I've got the music in my head 😀. Macak had painted several characters, on the opposite wall a South Park character with I'm Mantequila.

Et en dessous de Scan, il s'agit de Macak avec le fameux Inspecteur Gadget... juste à le voir j'ai le générique dans la tête 😀. Il avait peint plusieurs personnages, sur le mur opposé un personnage de South Park avec I'm Mantequila.

This is the end of the first wall, and we cross Rue de Rouen to admire the second. / FR : C'est la fin du premier mur, nous traversons la rue De Rouen pour aller admirer le second mur.

Mitik & Rains

We're off to a great start with Rains, an artist who divides his time between Paris and Montreal. He's accompanied by Mitik, also a member of the CDB collective. We have two superb letterings.

On commence fort avec Rains, un artiste qui se partage entre Paris et Montréal. Il est accompagné de Mitik, lui aussi membre du collectif CDB. On a le droit à deux superbes lettrages.

Mear, Macak...

We end our walk with another character from Macak, some lettering by Mear and a stencil of a friendly little rat also taking advantage of Rouen's Legal Wall to put his artistic paste on this amazing spot.

Nous terminons notre balade avec un autre personnage de Macak, un lettrage de Mear et un pochoir d'un petit rat bien sympathique en train lui aussi de profiter du Mur Légal de Rouen pour apposer sa pate artistique à cet endroit étonnant.
