Behind the college Sainte-Marie in Montreal, there is the last work of Scan with his friends just before his death. As he couldn't finish it, his friends and the Montreal Street Art community finished this work to pay him tribute. The result is stunning, as high as the talent of this artist. These photos were taken in two times at a few weeks interval because during my first passage it was a weekday and there were some students. I went back on a Sunday, nobody but snow. This wall called Time is Gold will be my entry for this week's edition of CCC's Street Art Contest #127

Derrière le collège Sainte-Marie à Montréal, il se trouve la dernière oeuvre de Scan avec ses amis juste avant sa mort. Comme il n'avait pas pu la terminer, ses amis et la communauté Street Art a terminé cette oeuvre pour lui rendre hommage. Le résultat est superbe à la hauteur du talent de cet artiste. Ces photos ont été prises en deux fois à quelques semaines d'intervalle car lors de mon premier passage c'était un jour de semaine et il y avait quelques étudiants. Je suis retourné un dimanche, personne mais de la neige. Ce mur appelé Time is Gold sera mon entrée pour l'édition de cette semaine du
CCC's Street Art Contest #127.

Scan only had time to finish the line of the different letters before his death. His friends Zek and Stare finished the filling and the background. And on the left, we find a beautiful bear also made for a friend Harry Bones.

Scan n'avait eu le temps que de finir le trait des différentes lettres avant sa mort. C'est ses amis Zek et Stare qui ont fini le remplissage et le fond. Et sur la gauche, on retrouve un superbe ours fait aussi pour un ami Harry Bones.

Short biography as it's not the first post about this artist. Based in Montreal, Alexandre Veilleux aka Scan was a street artist since the late 90's. He used different techniques : collage, rolls, aerosols or pens for his complex and colorful works. Considered one of the leaders in the street art movement in Montreal, his trademark "Mr Can Do" was one of the most recognizable in the city. Sadly, he passed away the 9 September 2017 following a long battle against cancer (liposarcoma).

Courte biographie car ce n'est pas le premier post sur cet artiste. Basé à Montréal, Alexandre Veilleux aka Scan était un artiste qui a débuté sa carrière dans les années 90. Il utilisait différentes techniques : collage, rouleaux, aérosols ou stylos pour ses œuvres complexes et colorées. Considéré comme l'un des leaders du mouvement street art à Montréal, sa marque de fabrique "Mr Can Do" est encore l'une des plus reconnaissables de la ville. Malheureusement, il est décédé le 9 septembre 2017 après un long combat contre le cancer (liposarcome). Il n'a pas pu terminer ce mur, ce sont ses amis qui lui ont rendu hommage en la finissant.

Stare & Zek

Stare, one of my favorite writers, and Zek finished the Scan's lettering by doing the filling and the background. Great job. I think the eagle is also the work of Harry Bones. This wall is a great tribute to the artist especially with the little white dog with his collar with Mr Can Do.

Stare, un de mes writers préférés, et Zek ont terminé le lettrage de Scan en faisant le remplissage ainsi que le fond. Je pense que l'aigle est aussi l'oeuvre de Harry Bones. Ce mur rend un vibrant hommage à l'artiste surtout avec le petit chien blanc avec son collier avec Mr Can Do.
