STREET ART #151 - Tango dancers, cat and mouse in Buenos Aires, Argentina

DSC_01.jpg

As I said in my last post from Buenos Aires, there are still more photos of great street art to come. Even I haven’t counted, I believe I have taken more 200 photos. I am still sorting out and arranging my files. This is another selection that we came across the day we went to visit the Japanese Garden. In the same district there are several other parks. We walked one of the avenues to an intersection close to Plaza Holanda. In the area around the roads leading to different directions is where we came across these murals.

In this intersection, under a bridge you will find these mural with motifs of tango dancers. Tango did originate in Buenos Aires, so it does feel appropriate to see these murals in the capital of Argentina. Unfortunately, they do look a bit worn. My photos are not all that good either, because of the difficulty to get the right position. I had to stay on the pavement. The road that runs here is a multi-lane road with heavy traffic, so it was not possible to go out into the street. On the opposite wall, still under the bridge the motif of an accordion, which is also connected to tango.

Just around the corner from the tango dancers, we saw this play between cat and mouse. It’s painted on a corner, so that the cat is on one side and the mouse on the other. This painting seems also a bit worn. A shame. But I think they must have looked much better once.
