The epic journey of almost 4500 kilometres in a few days

Some of you may have noticed that I have taken a little break from blogging in the past couple of weeks, our lives have still been full of interesting new places, people and experiences, so much so that in all truthfulness I've not had a single moment of free time! Just over a month ago we were enjoying the sunny Queensland coast, however, a single phone call changed that in just a few moments, not in a way we didn't enjoy, quite the contrary! Next month will mark a full year since we sold everything we owned and left on an adventure to travel Australia, wow! But recently we were discussing when we should pick up some work to replenish the funds, not long after discussing this, my husband's former boss called us and asked if we could come to Western Australia for work, we agreed, but with this agreement came a deadline for starting work! It meant we had to travel almost 4500 kilometres in less than one week! 4 days! We can do it can't we? I asked my husband, his standard reply 'yeah no problem', and yes, he was right, it was no problem, but it's certainly not an easy mission with 4 kids and caravan in tow. We took the days fairly easy, plenty of stops for our 4 active boys. We would stop for a couple of hours in the evening to cook dinner and stretch our legs before driving on. The kids would fall asleep by 7.30 pm,(a good thing about them all being in booster chairs still), and we would continue driving at night until we got tired. The good thing about outback Australia is that there are always plenty of places to pull over for a sleep.

After travelling so far in such a short space of time, all the places we briefly stopped at are a bit muddled in my mind, but join with me on our epic journey from east to west with the following photos, hope you can feel the cool vibe of a super long road trip!

From the most northern part of the Australian continent, through outback Queensland, into the red Plains of the Northern Territory, to the ruggard hills of East Kimberley in Western Australia, to where we would be based in our humble little home on wheels for the next few weeks.

A quick car service was needed during the journey, while dad did an oil change and service on car and caravan, kids and mum took the opportunity to head to the river for a swim, we found some old car tires that had been sadly rolled down the hill and dumped in the dry part of the river, the boys immediately saw a use for them and started rolling them into position for a cubby house.

After a big day we pulled into Innot Springs, we weren't sure what to expect, but my, we were pleasantly surprised. What a gorgeous little place, we stayed way longer than anticipated but it was so nice! This place has gorgeous hot, and I mean really hot, Springs, in the centre of the town. We will definitely have to come back for a visit one day, but we all really enjoyed a nice soak in the Innot hot Springs.

And to greet us into Western Australia was a gorgeous storm and afterward the magnificent colours of the rainbow, just stunning!

Since being back in WA there has been lots of work to earn us some $$. I've enrolled in a short course through a university to study, and the kids of course are still loving the non homeschooling, unschooled schooling. And it would be very unlike us if there wasn't plenty of exploring in amongst all that,
of course we've also had plenty of travelling adventures, waterfalls, walks, new waterpark, visiting new and old friends since being here.
