Hello, dear Hive family,
Today I like to share with you my experience in India, when I celebrated Shivas Birthday with my friend Aji from Vandiperiyar.
As I already mentioned in the last article, this celebration lasts 10 days. I think it was the second or the third day of the entire celebration, where we decided to visit one temple nearby his village.
In the morning, we woke up and enjoyed our breakfast. Then we got ready for this adventure. We dressed in special clothes - lungi and shirt, how the Malayali people call it. We took a nice walk through the village to the next local bus station to have the maximum of a local experience. From the main junction and a quick chat with Ajis friends, we continue our walk to the celebration area – a temple near the river banks.
We passed the tea plantations and reached the festival area. It got very crowded, and many people were joining the celebration.
The highlight for me was the drum music and the majestic elephant visiting the temple as well.
