It may have snowed only a few days ago, but the blooming trees and bushes all around the city leave no place for doubt: Spring is certainly springing big time in the German capital.
As a result, numerous people are drawn outside to enjoy the beauty of this brief period when the trees and bushes are clad in pink, yellow, and white.
While the custom of having elaborate sake-fueled picnics under the cherry trees is more typical for Japan, their expression Hanami, meaning flower looking - and photographing - certainly applies here as well.
Though the Spring weather can be tricky, and just as the last snow is not expected to stay for long, the warm sunshine may just as quickly turn into rain, or be blown away by gusts of cold wind.
As we all know, showers bring the flowers, whichever Spring month they may fall into.
So even with cloudy skies, walking around in the city filled with blossoming trees is a sheer joy.
Though it may not last very long, the flower season will be replaced by warming temps and greener trees.
And before we know it it will be Summer. So let's enjoy the Springtime while it's at its fullest.
