PLANNING:

Since I love to travel, in October I tell my cousins and my sister and her husband about the Sajek trip. They also gladly agreed to my proposal. Since my cousin and brother-in-law are employees, I was having trouble fixing the date. Finally, on the night of December 22, we decided to start the journey.

Day 1(22 Dec):

We were taking preparations about two days ago. We were all very excited about this trip. We had a group of 10 people in total. Me, my sister and brother-in-law and the other 6 are my cousins. After completing all the preparations, we set off for the Gabtali bus terminal.

When we reach Gabtali bus terminal it is 10 pm. Our bus was at 11 o'clock at night. The bus leaves at the right time. Our journey towards Khagrachari started. We got on the bus and sat in our seats. I took chips, cakes, biscuits and water to eat on the way.

We were having a lot of fun inside the bus. Some were singing, some were telling jokes. In a word, everyone was very happy.

Most of us stayed up all night. But I fell asleep.

Early the next morning we entered Khagrachhari district. Our bus was moving slowly on the hilly road. There was greenery all around. We were scared though. The road was very narrow and nothing could be seen in front of it due to fog on a winter morning.
We reached Khagrachhari town around 8 am.

Then our first task was to rent a "Chader Gari". If you want to go to Sajek, you must rent a "Chader Gari". This is a kind of jeep.

Since we didn't eat anything at night, we were all very hungry. So we went to a hotel and sat down and had breakfast. Breakfast items were paratha, fried potatoes, fried eggs, chicken.

If you want to go to Saje, you have to take permission from the BGB camp and they allow any vehicle to cross the camp before 3 pm. So we had planned in advance that we would go to the only hanging bridge in Bangladesh after reaching Khagrachhari in the morning. So after breakfast we started our journey towards the hanging bridge.

We stay there for about 2 hours. The place is like a huge park with big ponds and many trees.

Then we got out of there and started our journey towards Sajek. With permission from the BGB camp, we started our journey again. We stop at Dighinala Upazila for lunch. We had lunch at a hotel there.

Then our journey begins again. The hilly road as well as the trees, hills and clouds. It is as if nature has shown us all its beauty. We were fascinated and began to enjoy the beauty of nature.
After a journey of about 2 hours, we reached Sajek around 5 pm. There we had already rented a cottage.

We freshen up at the cottage and set off to see Helipad Hill. We reached there in 10 minutes on foot. The view from the Helipad Hill was very nice.

Clouds were floating in front, the clouds clinging to the mountains. It was as if we were on top of a cloud.

That night we decided to have a barbecue party. We pre-ordered for the barbecue and they told us to come around 9pm. So we came back to the cottage and rested for a while. Someone took a bath again this winter night. Then we go there around 9am and the barbecue starts.

Almost Done

Barbecue was our dinner with 3 nan bread, salad and drink. Since we were all very tired during the day's journey and our main adventure would start the next morning, we all went to bed very early.

The first part of our Sajak trip ends here. The second episode will have some exciting trekking and natural waterfall trip details for you.
I hope you like it. And if you ever travel to Bangladesh, Sajek must be at the top of your list.

That's all for today. Stay Home Stay Safe.

GoodBye.
