As you already know if you are divers who have more than the basic diving course, the buoy is an essential safety element for the diver and his safety when ascending to the surface.
In this way, releasing the buoy before starting the ascent and safety stop, whether we are close to our boat or not, we will alert other boats that there is a diver at that point and, as you know, all boats should recognize the signal and respect at least a radius of 50 meters of safety distance.
Having reached more than 33 meters deep in this dive, the law requires having an emergency air tank prepared at a depth of 5 meters (it is that air tank that appears tied to a rope with all the first stage assembly carried out) so that, in case of any unforeseen event with the air, the diver can make the safety stop without complications.
The first thing we did when ascending to 5 meters for the safety stop was to check that the emergency air tank was still working as well as when we checked it at the beginning of the deep dive.
The next thing was to continue doing the safety stop for 3 minutes while we checked that our pressure gauges indicated the amount of air remaining and everything was "ok" for us.
Also we realized that, after starting the ascent, the signaling buoy had become entangled, so my diving partner and instructor proceeded to untangle it.
After the 3-minute safety stop, we ascended to the surface and contacted the boat.
