COMPONDO O TIME

TIME ADVERSÁRIO

O adversário escolheu a invocadora Tarsa level 3.

Com o upgrade, fica impossível o adversário me derrotar.

Hey guys, @CrazyPhantomBR is another #PT in the area participating in the Weekly Challenge, this is the best #play2earn game there is!! #Splinterlands!!
We are all #hive and #hivebr!

This post is a submission to the Weekly Challenge Splinterlands!

This season has been a little harder to climb the rankings. Only now at the very end did I reach Gold 1, which was my goal. While climbing, still in Gold 2, I came across the worst possible scenario to battle: the Only Fire rule which is actually the restriction of all splinters, except fire. Keyed up...

Those who follow my posts know that I really like the weekly challenges and I keep switching between card reviews and complete compositions! I think it's very productive, and serves the purpose of putting the game in the trending topics.

Of all possibilities, I just fall into the trap of my worst deck. So let's see how I got through the humiliation of playing Gold 2 with Summoner Starter!

I don't have any hired summoners for the Fire splinter!!

The Heavy Hitters rule applies the Knock Out ability to all monsters. Playing only with the Fire splinter that sort of balances the risk. I took it like it was a standard battle.

PREVIOUS ANALYSIS

This is the basic strategy for lovers of Splinterlands, and consists of checking the history of previous battles of the opponent. The opponent's five games showed splinter Water as the preferred one, that is, I couldn't see the opponent's available cards that would be forced to play with Fire.

There is a strategy that I call "mirror" which consists of playing with the same team as the opponent, and counting on winning by having more evolved cards or by luck. I can't count on that because my cards in general are not very evolved. Playing with starter summoner is sure to lose.

Since I only play in Modern mode, keep in mind that some summoners and cards are not available.

But the opponent would keep coming with the Fire team with more cards than mine, so I could only have a chance based on the strategy itself.

However, we live in times of experimentation. And I've been betting on some changes to discover new combinations in the game. My last two posts of the Splinterlands weekly challenges were talking about the Martyr skill and I'll risk it again.

The decision was made and I decided to bet on the sacrifice strategy.

COMPOSING THE TIME

Sacrifice Strategy

It's when you voluntarily put yourself in an unfavorable position, which would be unlikely, preventing the opponent from predicting your team correctly, surprising him.
Source: The Art of War, by CrazyPhantomBR

With the availability of the new skill *Martyr* it was interesting to adapt the sacrifice strategy to include sacrificing a card in favor of upgrading the others. That's what the *Martyr* skill does, because when the card that has this skill is eliminated, it increases the life points, shield, speed and attack of the monsters that are next to it. In the case of the *Fire* spinter, the card with this ability is *Firecaller*. It is he who will be sacrificed.

The cards chosen to receive the status upgrade were *Disintegrator* and *Tenyii Striker*. Looking back after battling it, I realized it wasn't the best choice. I should have prioritized *Lava Launcher*, but it's too late now.

The summoner *Tarsa* that I have available only in level 1 *starter* will provide point of extra health and attack for melee monsters. Sacrifice will increase these points. So I hope to have a chance to inflict damage on the *Living Lava* opponent who will definitely be on the field along with the *Disintegrator*.

I went into battle expecting defeat...

ADVERSARY TEAM

The opponent chose the summoner Tarsa level 3. In the front line aLiving Lava level 1, followed by Tenyii Striker level 3, Djinn Apprentice level 3, and topped it off with the level 1 monsters: the ever-dangerous classic Serpetine Spy, Fire Elemental and Disintegrator.

Only two opposing monsters were level 3, which made me relieved.

At the end of round 4, the incompetent Serpentine Spy did not provide the death of my sacrifice Firecaller. I didn't consider him to have 5 life!

Without the Martyr points, the Disintegrator reaches the battlefront with low speed and limited attack capacity!

Thanks to the Fire Elemental the sacrifice is performed and I manage to upgrade the cards.

With the upgrade, it is impossible for the opponent to defeat me.

STATISTICAL ANALYSIS

It took 4 rounds for me to perform the sacrifice. This was a mistake! I relied on Serpentine Spy to do the job myself, and I almost regret it.

In any case, it is evident that the correct use of the Martyr ability can be the sufficient differential to guarantee victories even when the battles are discrepant between players of very different card levels.
