Introduction
Light and darkness do not mix. They are two structures or conditions that can never come together. They are facing. The apostle John writes in John 1: 4_5 that “in him was life and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. thus, for light to do the sending it must shine in the darkness.
Text analysis
"Darkness did not understand"
In Greek, the word for understanding can mean three things:
Maybe; to capture, to set, to conquer, so vs 5 read as follows: darkness cannot control.
May also mean; to detect, to discover, to capture, to capture, to capture by intellectual or behavioral efforts, by which the argument may be interpreted; “Darkness does not accept or understand.
May also mean; turn off, turn off, speed up the light by turning it off. ” By this we mean that "darkness cannot destroy you" so light and darkness are actually contradictory if we live for Christ we will do that. shine as light, showing others what Christ is like. Light and its source
Although one may doubt the source of darkness no one will doubt the source of light. God created light on the first day of creation, Gen 1vs 3. Another interesting bible recorded in John 1: 4 says "in Him was life, and the life was the light of men." Also, at John 8:12, Jesus states: "I am the light of the world.
If Jesus were the light of the world, the world would be no more without Jesus;
Note, too, that whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. ”
Having the light of life is the result of following Jesus and not just being with Him
The following removes all iota of static situation.
In the Bible the day is often used to describe light and night is also used to describe darkness. According to John 9: 4. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
How to keep your light
That light shines in the darkness and the darkness could not understand and, it is a normal state.
However
The light came but the people preferred darkness. John 3: 18-19
Sitting in the dark they saw a great light.
God used the power of light to protect Israel; Exodus.14: 19: 20.
Egypt faced darkness and that ended their pursuit at that time while Israel was light and moving forward.what was darkness in Egypt was real light.This is because of one side.
The light that shines on them is real in their night and the darkness in Egypt in their day.

To ensure that your light continues to shine the following are required:
Your identity with Jesus should not be questioned
Following Jesus is the only way to have the light of life. 1(John 8:12)
It is our decision to walk with Jesus that guarantees forgiveness
The cleansing by blood is because we are in the light and not simply because we confess our sins.
Our love for brotherhood will help to reveal the light.
So there is a difference between light and darkness, so let your light shine ...... Matt 5: 16

You are the chosen generation. This means that a person is selected from a large group for special services and privileges. We have been chosen and called to come out of darkness into the wonderful light of Christ, and this is for us to reflect the glory of Him who has done this wonderful work for us and for us.
