Super Cabbage Flower Curry.

Good day to all my dear friends! How are you doing? Lately, we've been getting heavy rains in our country. Because of the rain, it's been hard to get any outdoor work done today. Amid all the tasks, I’m planning to prepare a tasty gova (cabbage) curry to go along with rice for lunch. Gova is a highly nutritious vegetable, packed with essential nutrients. It is rich in fiber, minerals, proteins, and vitamins, making it an excellent choice for maintaining a healthy diet. It’s especially great for vegetarians, as it fulfills many nutritional needs. This curry is a popular dish among Sri Lankans. Let's explore how to prepare this delicious curry together!

Materials Used.

Cabbage flowers 250g.
Some water.
Salt powder as required.
1/2 Teaspoon of turmeric Powder.
1 Teaspoon of curry powder.
1 Teaspoon of chili powder.
1 Finely chopped onion.
1 Chopped tomato.
About a green chillies, finely chopped.
About 3 cloves of crushed garlic.
Finely chopped curry leaves.
2 Tablespoon of coconut oil.

The cooking process as follows.

Now, let's get ready to prepare this delicious curry. First, take a bowl and add some water. Then, mix in about a teaspoon of salt. After that, break the cabbage into small pieces and wash it thoroughly using the saltwater mixture.

Next, take a pot and add about a liter of water to it. Place it on the stove and bring it to a boil. Add a teaspoon of salt and a pinch of turmeric powder to the water. Then, add the cabbage pieces to the pot. Increase the heat and let it cook for about 4 minutes. Once it's cooked, remove it from the stove and set it aside.

Now, place another pan on the stove and add about two tablespoons of coconut oil. Once the oil is heated, add the chopped green chilies, garlic, onions, and tomatoes to the pan. Stir the mixture well and sauté until everything is nicely combined and the ingredients start to soften.

Next, add chilli powder, curry powder, turmeric powder and salt powder to it and mix well.

Next, add the steamed gova flower pieces to the mixture and stir well. Pour in about half a cup of water and let it simmer for around 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend. Finally, add a few curry leaves, mix it all together, and remove the pan from the heat.

So, that's how you prepare this delicious gova flower curry. You can serve it with hot rice or roti for a hearty meal.
