Greetings my friends, I hope you are well, and these days have been resting with your loved ones, today I want to share with everyone what my dinner was that day, it was not fish, nor meat, it was a delicious vegan burger, with an exquisite beet bread, and some lentil croquettes, you don't know how I enjoyed this food, the bread is crazy, I loved it, the first time I make it, I must improve some things haha, but I assure you that it was exquisite, this burger It is a combination of many flavors, and the best thing, everyone at home was delighted. I share the step by step.

Vegan burger, with beet bread and lentil croquettes.

Ingredients for the bread:

  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour.
  • 3 small beets.
  • 1 Tablespoon of instant yeast.
  • 1/2 cup of warm water.
  • A teaspoon of sugar.
  • A teaspoon of salt.
  • 1 Tablespoon of oil.

Ingredients for the croquettes:

  • 1 cup of lentils, soak them the day before.

  • Half an onion, half a red pepper, two sweet chili peppers, a stalk of celery.

  • Salt, and to taste, I used cumin, 7 spices, and paprika powder, all to taste.


Preparation of the bread:

1- Add the sugar and yeast to the warm water, and mix well, let it sit for 15 minutes.

2- Cut the beet into pieces and make a puree.


3- Once the 15 minutes have passed, in a bowl, add the flour, salt, beetroot, oil, and activated yeast, mix everything, until all the ingredients are well integrated and a dough is formed. If you see that the dough is very soft, add a little more flour.

4- We add the dough to a counter and knead, form a ball and let it rise for approximately 25 minutes.


5- After the time has passed, we cut the dough into 4 parts, and we form our loaves, we make buns and flatten them, then we put them in the oven for approximately 25 minutes.

6- While the bread is cooking, we make the lentil croquettes. After soaking for 24 hours, we take them to a food processor, grind them, and set them aside.


7- We cut the vegetables into small squares, and fry them for a few minutes, then add them to the lentil mass, along with the spices, and mix well.

8- We form the croquettes and cook them in a frying pan with a little preheated oil.

9- Once the cooking time of the buns has passed, we remove them from the oven, let them cool a little and assemble our Burgers.


10- To make these delicious Burgers, add lettuce, tomatoes and lentil croquettes, but you can add all the vegetables you want. And that's it, let's enjoy this delight.
