Let's make a new recipe at low cost that is tastier and more nutritious than rice for dinner.

Good morning, everyone. How are you? In today's culinary world, the search for affordable, tasty, and nutritious food options has become increasingly common. Today, I'm excited to share with you a delicious meal that can be enjoyed at night and comes at a low cost. It's prepared using rice and lentils, which are the main ingredients. This dish is incredibly flavorful, and I'm actually preparing it for the first time myself, following a recipe from a Sri Lankan YouTube video. Although the dish wasn't mentioned by foodname in the video, it's still a fantastic choice for a budget-friendly dinner option. Let's take a look at how to prepare it.

Required Ingredients...

🍀 1/2 cup of large dhal.
🍀 1 cup of rice.
🍀 1 cup of coconut milk.
🍀 1/2 teaspoon of Mustard seed.
🍀 1 chopped onion.
🍀 2 pod of green chillies, finely chopped.
🍀 Some chopped onion leaves.
🍀 A finely chopped Curry leaves.
🍀 Crushed garlic.
🍀 Salt to taste.
🍀 1 Teaspoons of crushed chili powder.
🍀 1 Teaspoons of sugar.
🍀 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder.
🍀 1 tablespoon of coconut oil.

Method of making.

First you soak dry chickpeas and rice in water for about an hour. Then wash them well. Take another vessel and let it drain the water.

Then take a blender and add some rice and lentils to it.

Then put the blended mixture in another bowl. The mixture should be quite thick.

Then add baking powder and sugar to the mixture and mix well.

Then take a pot and place it on the stove, add a tablespoon of oil and let it heat. After the oil heats up, add mustard seed, garlic and onion leaves to it and fry for about a minute, add curry leaves, onion and raw chillies and fry.

Then add the fried mixture to the prepared rice and dal mixture and mix.

After that put the mixture in small cups and boil it for about 35 minutes with the help of a steamer.
