Over the years I have read multiple tropes and sub genres. Romantasy, marriage of convenience, single parent, enemies to lovers, historical romance, found family, friends to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, mafia romance, slowburn, among many others-if you have no idea what I'm talking about, let me know in the comments and I'll be happy to do a post explaining all these terms. My only requirement is that it has a happy ending. We are not lovers of sad endings here. I read to feel good.

The first one was dedicated to the Mistborn trilogy (you can read it here) And before continuing reading "forward" I decided to take a "step back" and read Sanderson's first work.
I must confess that I wasn't expecting much, after all, it was his first novel, the one that made him known. It had to be good but not that much, or so I thought.

I scrolled aimlessly through Instagram and I came across a reel. It was actually a sneak peek of a book that's about to be released. I read it's content and I was disgusted. I've never been so disgusted by words than I was while reading. The contents of this reel, I would rather not disclose cause if I do, this post would be deemed NSFW. This is just me ranting about my displeasure in the romance book world of today.

Okay, so they decided to call the comic "Universal Monsters: Frankenstein" but that's no catchy title now, is it? Purely for branding rather than trying to immerse us with captivating titles. We all know who Frankenstein is, anyway. Why, he's the scientist that created the monster, Frankenstein's Monster! To keep the post title shorter, I emitted the Universal Monsters side of things. But hey, this isn't about soullessness within corporations, it's about the fun of Halloween and the month of thrills to come! I admit I have been getting a bit too excite for the month a little earlier than usual, but it has been really fun to have this excitement for a holiday, and October tends to be one of my favourite months of the year due to the atmosphere. I recently read Ain't No Grave, and started the DC Halloween event for Batman's The Long Halloween; I'm still just getting started though! Creepshow's comic has returned for a short run this year too, with just one chapter out so far. But I don't think it'd be a celebration of the fun month of Halloween without reading something related to the most famous monster stories in history: Frankenstein. And to be honest, I was quite surprised that there was effort put into creating a comic for the story this year. And I'm already hoping there will be more to come.

Last Sunday I went to Delhi famous daryaganj bookmarket, which takes place every Sunday, youā€™ll get cheap books here. Out of excitement, I picked many. To begin with I started with "Days at the Morisaki Bookshop." This book is a real gem that I bought because of its tempting cover. Yeah! I know thereā€™s a saying that Dont judge a book by its cover but I guess that's what we all do, at least me.

It's been a long time since I wanted to read a book by Ziggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie, otherwise known as Ziggy Z. This book entitled Di Tanah Lada is her work that succeeded in the Jakarta Arts Council novel writing competition in 2014 and occupied the second position. At that time, the world of Indonesian storytelling seemed to have a new and unique name. Ziggy is not a new writer, but Di Tanah Lada is one of the most sought-after books to date. There are many reasons why I only recently had the chance to read Ziggy's masterpiece. Moreover, I again borrowed it on the iPusnas legal application.

I'm not a good book reader even though I enjoy doing this a lot actually. I don't really have the patience for it, and when I do...Often something else comes along for distraction. It has been multiple times already that I had started a book on a trip somewhere (because that is usually when I find the time and dedication to actually sit and read something) and that I end up finishing it only on the next trip a year later.

I told my people today, writing in a book club about your inability to read books is a classic. And itā€™s not much that Iā€™m willing to dwell on. But yeah, I believe writing about something that disturbs you is your first and best way to liberation. So this is me, writing about my sudden inability to pick up books.Okay guys, Iā€™m in a bit of a book slump. I donā€™t know if I should call it a bit because Iā€™m becoming glaringly aware of it. One of the biggest reasons why I would usually get into a book slump is a bad book or a draining book. The first being that the book bored the life out of me and because I couldnā€™t flow with the book, I dropped and dropped the thought of reading any other book alongside.

I've been a reader all my life but I've only read a motivational book. Just one motivational book out of the numerous numbers out there. I know it's not something to be proud of but I'm working towards bettering myself where self-help books are concerned. Life is not fiction. I grew up in a home, with a dad who did not mind spending the whole day reading books from authors like Sun Tzu, Lee Kuan Yew, Prince Machiavelli and the likes. I grew up with these books around me but was more invested in fiction. Although, I didn't get to read any other of my dad's books, there was one I read. And that's what I'll be reviewing today.

What is Hive Book Club?

Hive Book Club is a community made by book lovers, for book lovers. A place where the chaotic minds of writers may punch away words from their keyboards as they share their writing adventures. Where passionate book collectors may rummage through their stacks of books to share and review their latest additions. Outside of our regular curation process, we may create contests for our community to participate in, and earn even more from their posts. If you have a certain theme for a future contest you would like to see, let us know! Be sure to check with us frequently on our various social media platforms to avoid missing out!

How Do We Choose The Highlighted Posts?

For those of you curious as to how you may have been chosen or would like to be chosen in the future in one of these compilations: we scan through the community and read the many posts that the community members write. We then select four or five posts that we believe meet certain criteria and are worthy of sharing with the rest of the community. We aim to keep these selections diverse in style, from writing skills or subject matter.

Hence, throughout the week, the moderators will check the community and manually handpick the posts. Some factors include the post subject, post quality, engagement, personal voice, and general effort. If we choose you, or you happen to stumble across these highlights, please do check out the other posts we feature, and contribute to their curation and engagement!
