THE LESSON

It's another day to write a post and today's post is all about lessons.

I don't know why, but a part of me always like writing about the lessons I learnt in life. Maybe it is prolly because I have gotten a lot a experience from my mistakes.

Anyways, it is a well known fact that the ability to learn are important attributes of being a human. The inability to learn is equals to the inability to grow both psychologically and otherwise. Learning is fun, but you know what is more fun? Learning from a stranger.

I have had many scenarios where a stranger taught me a valuable lesson about life and it changed my perspective about being in the receiving end. Undoubtedly, I love giving to the needy, but one thing about me is that I hate being the receiver. This attribute came up after a stranger taught me a valuable lesson. Not direct lessons though but an indirect one.

THE LESSON TAUGHT BY THE STRANGER

It was a calm day and I was in my house enjoying my company when I received a call from my friends to hangout. Naturally, I would have declined the invitation but I decided to step out.

While on a bottle of Desperado, I observed a man tipping the waitress and was happy about it. My joy was short lived when the same person was requesting for something in return but sadly, the waitress couldn't give him, so he had to remind her of the tips he gave. He was trying to put it in a form of: I gave you something, so you have to give me something in return(i dont want to mention what he asked for in return). I was disgusted by this but decided to mind my business.

On several occasions, I always notice people who give something and always expect something in return. Not up to a handful give without any expectations.

One lesson I learnt from all these observations is that:

In life, nothing comes for free.

If somebody gives me anything now, I would always ask them what they want in return so that their intentions will be clear. People will want to give and give so that you'll be a stepping stone for them tomorrow, some give to buy favor, some give and expect what they gave to yield returns. All these irritates me. Personally, I don't give carelessly and aimlessly and I don't expect anything from anybody. I only give to those who are really in need and I ask those people to pass on the favor to another person, so that a chain of command could be built.

To everyone out there, always asked questions when you're being given something. Nothing comes for free and there is a reason for every single thing, however, do not hesitate to ask "why."

That will be all for this post, I really appreciate your presence on here and I hope to see you next time.

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate. Take care and have a wonderful month filled with festivities.
