Description from Strava:
It was pretty wet earlier in the week, but today was dry and a little warmer. It is definitely feeling like spring with various flowers and buds on the trees appearing. The birds are in full song.

I was thinking of doing my hill sprints, but decided to just do the regular loop. I was at our pub jam session last night and a little beer in my system can make me sluggish. It took a while to get going, but then the muscles need to warm up.

I do like that I can do a lot of the run away from the traffic. I just have podcasts coming through my bone conduction headphones plus the sounds of nature. There is a field of sheep up there with some lambs. I was going to take a picture of them, but it was hard to get a clear view, so I did the flowers instead. Messing around with that meant I was a bit slow on that stretch. I decided to try and pick up the pace to get the average down a bit.

Of course it is easier to go quicker when running downhill. I just tried to keep it up when I got back on the flat. At the end my watch said I averaged just over 6min/km, but Strava has it just under. I think it takes account of when I was not moving. The result was another negative split. I have to push myself to improve.

I will see if I can do parkrun this week, but they need volunteers again. The course should not be too bad at the moment. I know there were a lot more runners last Saturday after the washout/mudbath the week before. I am not so fussed about getting more runs recorded since I got past 100. It is a long way to the next milestone anyway.

With it being brighter today we should get more solar power from our panels. On the rainy days we struggled to charge the battery, but are still saving money.

Run free!
