Looking at this duplex, the house has been under renovation for sometimes now because the owner always do renovation of the building every 5years.
During the renovation of this building, a general survey will be carried out on the building so as to know the problems of the building and the remedy to it. Building maintenance are divided into two which are planned and unplanned maintenance.
planned / periodic maintenance :this is the type of maintenance that is planned for, it will be usually done in a way that is planned for. Just like this house I painted, the owner has planned it that every 5 years, he will always do a general renovation / maintenance and that's why the building was repainted and other things in the house fixed.
Unplanned maintenance : this type of maintenance is done when there is a sudden occurrences of delapitation of the building. Sudden damages caused by environmental forces, fire, rain,collapsing,thief etc.. We considered it as unplanned maintenance.
By this my little explanation, you will know why the owner of this duplex normally paint his building every 5 years.
When the painting of the house began, i was called upon but that was the time am busy with my farm products and thank God my colleagues did a great job here as you can see.
So i came to do some finishing so am free to work now (paint).
I painted the footing with white emulsion and after leaving it to dry, i now applied the gloss Brownish sandtex paint to it.
