Other Niche Communities Curation Report #164

OCD's support is expanding!

Hello everyone! This is the 164th compilation post of OCD's latest curation efforts. It has been known that OCD has been supporting leading niche communities under its Community Incubation Program. However, there are still a lot of other niche communities not supported by OCD. This curation initiative will help in supporting those communities.

This newest curation effort aims to encourage authors to post in appropriate communities even if those communities are not under the incubation program. This will also encourage users to explore more into the different communities in Hive.

How this Works

OCD curators and community leaders will find posts from other niche communities and recommend them for an upvote. Unlike those communities in the incubation program where curation is focused, this curation initiative is spread out. This will help find undervalued posts from smaller communities that deserve support.

This will highlight both the author and the community where the post is located. This way, smaller niche communities can focus on growing their subscribers and increasing the engagements within their respective communities. A small boost goes a long way.

Speaking of boost, here are the curated posts for this batch:

My Experience Growing Turban Pumpkins

Since winter was fast approaching, we had the heat on. I used the vents as a dehydrator, setting the pumpkin in front and rotating it so it could dry evenly. I also punctured a hole in the very bottom (where the flower comes from) with a nail. They usually leak water from this hole as they dry.

Once the small pumpkin was completely dry, I shook it to loosen up the seeds and then cut a hole to remove them. Now all I had to do was wait out the long, cold winter.

The purpose of these Plants in my small Garden

Culturing plants is very efficient in our daily lives and daily routine. It's easier for us to grab food to use in cooking and since it's us who are taking care of it. We can make sure that it's healthy by not putting chemical fertilizers in it. It's not for sale in the first place so why hurry in providing it with lots of fruits or vegetables. It's not just filling our bellies with healthy food but also it's healing our anxious thoughts. We're not just having a single benefit from culturing it but more.

Engage the Weekend : Backyard Grilling Again

After a week of job interviews for me, more job applications, the little one’s birthday party, and some more lost friends at work, we decided to take it easy yesterday and grill out in the backyard. Not everything can be exciting all of the time; I mean, I pretend to be 21 years old still, but I know better…and if I think I can outfool my brain and body, my knees and back are there to remind me...

So after a Sunday walk around a nearby prairie, I decided to chill out and grill up some lamb bratwursts we brought back with us from the North Shore. Also, I decided to have a Sunday beer, too…hey don’t judge, it’s a Sconnie thing!

[ESP-ENG] Huellas de triunfo Venezolano, Yulimar Rojas // Venezuelan Triumph Traces, Yulimar Rojas

Once again I am pleased to write to you. For all Venezuelan men and women, sport is essential in their lives, to practice and perform in a sport is rewarding, that is why the effort is rewarded, for example the participation of Venezuelan athletes in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020

My Trip to the Shoe material market

So on Friday my boss (teacher) informed me that I should come earlier than usual on Monday (I usually go to the workshop by 9am) because we'll be going to the market to buy some materials. I was delighted, this wasn't my first time there though I had once escorted a colleague of mine to buy soles for his shoe but this was going to be my first time buying materials for myself usually I had been handed materials and faced with the task of making the slippers I can make.

Let us not hinder the improvement of a psychiatric patient with bad comments [Eng-Spa]

Happy afternoon, friends of Hive. I greet you warmly, wishing you well from the bottom of my heart. Today I want to share with you a sad experience, which highlights the importance of mental health. I hope you draw lessons from it and that it never happens to you.

[ESP/ENGL]Una iguana inoportuna

Days ago I was commenting to @kennyroy about a post he wrote about the papaya plants in his garden, and I told that I also have problems with my papaya plants, but not because of weather issues, but because of a young iguana that It lives in my backyard, which, after eating the flowers and tender shoots of one of the plants, dried it up; and the other does not let the fruits grow, because it eats the flowers as soon as they sprout. Here you can see how my first plant was, which only gave a small fruit, although it is trying to sprout.

THE CALMING EFFECT OF SWARMING AFRICAN KILLER BEES

There is something extremely tranquil about standing in the middle of a swarming beehive. It is almost like stepping outside of time and watching time frames flash around you like a series of snapshots which suddenly fit together in a spectacular picture. In all reality, only a beekeeper would identify with that statement! I'm sure that I would not have been the only one standing excitedly, camera in hand, in the middle of the huge swarming bee colony who just returned to take up residence on our homestead.....happy little bee dance!!!

Splinterlands | The complete beginner strategy tutorial

I have been pretty active in the discord lately, mainly trying to help beginners with questions about strategy. Questions that get asked over and over again are: how to get started, how to get out of bronze, what cards should I buy/rent in bronze, etc.

This post aims to answer all those questions and really get help to get beginners started with splinterland strategies.

You should note that I do not necessarily have the best answer to everything. I'm just a splinterlands player that has been getting into splinterland strategies for a couple of months now and I have created my share of guides as well. With all my experience I'm trying to help beginners as much as possible. However, I'm still a human player with personal preferences, keep that in mind!
