(Sunrise outside the Property we are buying in Croatia)
__
So I wanted to offer a little update and use this opportunity to journal some of our Journey so far.
We had planned to drive already on Wednesday the 15th but our recently acquired van for transporting our creative material & personal stuff, had a drained battery, which I had to replace with a new one. Although the incident was absolutely worth the experience in hindsight.
March 15th Wednesday:
KPHI & myself initially had tried to charge its old battery via another car, but our attempts kept failing, so I actually called up the previous owner, hoping that perhaps he could help out with some tips, especially if he knew whether we were missing some detail that was causing it to not work, the car being so old (1987) I though perhaps I might be missing some detail.
He guided us through the steps once more on the phone, but when we didn't get it to work, he actually hopped into his car and drove a solid 30minutes to our current ex-home, to help us out live. I had really not at all expected him to so generously provide his help without even being asked really. Together with him, we managed to get the car running, the reason I failed at starting it, is cause this car has on the inside in the drivers side, a little lever for a vent which one can open/close, which changes how much air the engine receives, It needed to be fully open to get a solid start, I had not pulled hard enough to open it properly, since I was quite gentle with it in fear I might be able to break it. But the battery was also in a bad shape probably several years old, so the old owner advised that before taking her on such a long trip, I should ideally consider changing the battery before leaving. He offered that if I go buy a new one, he would come back the following day to help me replace it.
Thursday the 16th
I drove in the morning to buy a new battery, whereupon in the afternoon he came back and helped me change out the old one with the new battery. He had brought along a Friend of his so once we had done that, we all 4 sat down in the Garden to just chat a bit. The Previous Owner of the Car & his friend were in their early twenties, both of them 10 years younger than KPHI & Me, but the conversation was very pleasant since both of them had a tremendous energy & depth, which was refreshingly authentic.
The Conversation took off from the start in deeper territory & ended up being really stimulating. Since KPHI & Myself were so in awe at his helpfulness in the matter with the car, we gifted him one of our handmade tobacco pouches, since we really felt like his proactive and authentic attitude deserved a gift. It was an absolute pleasure also seeing him receive it, really cherishing the attention to detail & the beauty of the pouch. We talked for about an hour I would say before we said our final good-byes, feeling like our delay had been predestined only for the sake of the entire exchange with him & his friend. Something about the whole circumstance was worth having to pay for a new Battery.
We decided to drive on the Day after on the 17th of March. Which I will continue in a new post, since our travel turned out to be quite an adventure.
(Our Current Status is that we are in Croatia now, staying at the house we are in the process of buying, hopefully Tuesday the 28th we will have signed the contract with the notary. We hadn't had a chance to post on here, since the ecency app I had installed on the phone to keep posting via mobile does not work properly, perhaps someone here knows what the issue might be: I am logged into our account, but every action posting, voting etc I get an error saying: something went wrong. The Token has invalid Role)
