Hello fellow Hivers. How are you doing? Hoping everyone is doing well. Today I just share a few things that happened to me in the last week.
Well Monday we had a warm front that came and brought 16 C weather. I don't know for sure but that might be a record high. So you know I live in the state of Iowa in the United States. I gave my car a car wash and did some minor detailing on the inside. Now its Friday here and the temperature got as low as -16 C. What was looking brown and hopes of an early spring turned cold and white. We were in a blizzard yesterday and received 9 inches of snow.
My Thursday started early. I dozed off on the couch watching television. I woke up about 3 a.m. and headed to the bathroom to take out a contact lens. While doing this I lost the lens and it felt like it was still in my eye. This freaked me out a bit and I just stayed up. What did I do for the next 3 hours?
Well I was here in Hive reading, interacting, and experimenting on a few things. I have got to say I love the preview area that shows when your writing here. I did post a microblog about my contact lens issue on another platform. I'll tell you a little later on how that turned out. So at about 6:00, after I got a good dose of coffee in, I went outside to shovel my driveway full of snow. While doing this I got a call from my boss saying that late reporting is in effect and I didn't need to come into work until 12:30. That was music to my ears, now I can take my time shoveling.
Once I finished up shoveling I did some errands. I had to make a deposit at the bank and pick up some groceries. Driving was no easy task. You couldn't see the roads at times do to a whiteout. A white out is caused by heavy wind blowing the snow around. If that wasn't enough I almost got stuck a few times. I did witness cars sliding around, cars stuck in the snow, and even some automobiles in ditches.
Once I arrived home my driveway needed more shoveling. I took care of that and received another call from my boss. This time the message was not to come in at all. Good news for me because during normal road conditions it takes me 30 minutes to get to work. I imagine it would have taken an hour or more if I had to go in.
I will not lie the rest of the day I was very lazy. I even took a nap around 4:00 p.m. I did not wake up until 4 hours later. I woke up intially thinking it was morning. I made me something quick to eat. A breakfast dinner and not because I was thinking it was morning time still, hehe.
Picture above was from a few weeks ago but looks much identical. I was just hungry and wasn't thinking about taking a picture, haha. I ended up going to bed shortly after finishing my meal.
I got up early today at about 3:00 a.m. I felt a little itch in my eye and went to the mirror. A feeling of relief came upon me as I saw the folded up lens in my eye I tried to get out some 24 hours prior. So in all that lens was in my eye for about 45 hours. I did accomplish a feat I hope I never do again and that is I had two contact lens in my eye at the same time.
Well that is all I have for you today. I hope you all have a great weekend. Take care and be safe.
