Hello Gods Unchained Fans,
This week I have tested out the recently added sealed mode in Gods Unchained and am ready to give my verdict.
Sealed is the new mode where you pay in 15 GODS tokens and get the chance to win packs and more GODS tokens depending on how many games you win.
The game is quite different though because you do not select your god and build your deck in the regular way for ranked matches, but are given a selection of cards to choose from.
Therefore I needed to spend time with the cards available and see what best combinations were available. Usually picking out the best spells and higher rated cards that were most useful.
This is more difficult than you may think if you are not so experienced with many of the cards. Another difficult thing was to find cards with a good synergy. Any Anubian or Olympian buffs were probably not going to be very useful.
In this week's battle I present my 3rd sealed game.
I cannot play at first.
I play the Eager Gryphon. He is quickly removed though.
I play my Godblitz.
I delve a viking into my hand. The strength of my creatures is lowered. This is very frustrating lol.
I delve some legendaries into my hand. Hopefully this can work out good for me, but I have to read the abilities of them all quickly! I opt for lower mana legendaries if possible.
I bring out Void Flash that helps even things up a little. Still all to play for here until my enemy brings out Merry Kadmos.
I through out The Kidnapper who then gets turned into a rat.
I destroy Merry Kadmos and bring out something from my void.
We reach 7 mana quickly and I bring out the Cyclops! My enemy does an annoying board clear..
I play Volkaaz, Master of Pain who does a nice kill of my enemy. My enemy play reduces his strength to 0 though which is annoying as hell.
I play my legendary and get some attack on my enemy. Not only that, he buffs everyone with the combo with Master of Pain.
It doesn't do me any good though as End Times is played by my opponent. I can only answer with Banished Bull.
Banished Bull gets his strength lowered with the damn Reformation spell. I have only 8 mana left so pull cards back to our hands.
I play a risky move with Bitter Endings...and play Takkat. Is it enough? My opponent sends my cards to sleep and buffs his health..
It's all over.
Overall I do not find Sealed Mode that good, although it is another interesting game mode that some people might enjoy. The randomness of the cards is quite interesting and could make some fun games, but overall I found it hard to remember lots of cards that you wouldn't normally use and trying to find good combinations and synergies when selecting your deck was also not so great.
Although this should affect also your opponent, I feel that it is more a hustling game mode and doesn't make sense to pay 15 GODS to try and win more packs and GODS back. The chances of being able to win are probably not so high.
As I didn't win any games, I won just 1 common pack. Also the games do not count to your daily play and earned and therefore unless you really like the random card choosing aspect and have lots of GODS to waste, then this game mode makes no sense for most players.
My weekend ranking was again very bad with my war deck. Once I start climbing the ranks, the opponents get too hard and I run out of cards. I need to look at some improvements for this week's weekend ranked as another one with just 5 wins would suck.
Since my last update, I have now reached level 238(+4) and have 107(+0) shadow cards and 453(+2) meteorite cards. My collection value has decreased and is worth 3585 (3783) GODS tokens and value in fiat of $550 ($590).
My war deck is still worth only around $1,70 and could be a perfect starter deck for someone beginning.
