The air is stifling;
Their eyes have gone dark;
And I'm all alone, trapped;
A quarry for these ravenous beasts,
Help, I can't breathe!
There's a knee to my neck;
Several boots hold my wings in restraint
As I gasp for breath;
But none has ears for my plea
Help, I can't breathe!
I cannot call on Dad; he is in jail,
Serving time for a CRIME HIS SKIN COMMITTED;
I cannot call on mom; what's she to do
When she is a prey too
Help, I can't breathe!
I can't breathe, not when my face
Is neighbour with the ground;
And the dust, guests in my nostrils
As I'm pinned down for interrogation;
Alas, I have committed a crime
BY LOOKING THE WAY THE CREATOR MADE ME.
