Secret Between Brats Like Us

I must admit that childhood is still the most beautiful time to remember. In my memory, most of the activities I did were just playing, playing and napping. When I was little, I had a close friend who lived in the same neighborhood as me. We were always together and inseparable. When we got to the 5th grade of elementary school, something funny and embarrassing happened.

We were a group of three and each of us loved fantasy movies. More precisely, animated movies where the characters have superpowers to fight enemies and save the city. Over time, this passion became an unbearable wild obsession. We started fantasizing about having our own powers and decided to think hard about how we could achieve our fantasies.

One day my friend suddenly called us all together. We arrived at our gathering point under a thick rain tree.
"Guys, I have valuable information that I found on the internet yesterday!" Andi, the person who gathered us was so excited. My other friend Candra and I waited.

"I accidentally browsed the stories of people from around the world who were blessed with superpowers and accidentally found a website that contains methods of learning to gain super power ability instantly!"

Candra and I were shocked to hear that statement, our eyes lit up like a predator that found its prey. "Have you learned the method!" I asked.

"I've printed out all the information!" Andi handed me an A4-sized sheet of paper. On each sheet was a list of superpowers and how to learn them. We took turns scanning each sheet. The list included methods of having the strength of 1000 elephants, mastering the elements of fire, water, lightning, seeing the future, illusionary abilities and many more.

Our confidence in having superpowers peaked. We decided to follow the method found on andi's printed information and decided to choose what kind of power we wanted to master and learn.

I'm interested in having the power to control the wind. This decision was made on the basis that the use of this power would be very useful such as creating a breeze to relieve heat. Andi wanted to have the power to create lightning on his body while Candra wanted to learn to master the fire element.

After discussing it for a while, we all agreed to keep this training plan as a secret. We wanted to surprise the people around us with the powers we had learned. The location of the training will be a large field in front of my house, an area that is rarely accessed by people. So it would be very potential for us to make it a place for secret superpower training.

Training at the field

When the first day of training began, we were very enthusiastic. We first did physical exercises as a warm-up including running around the field, push ups and sit ups several times. After that, it was on to the main training. The key to this training is simple, we just need to make strong suggestions about the strengths we want to master. For example, when I want to master the wind element, I just need to focus on suggesting that I am the wind that blends between the air and the falling leaves.

That's the kind of training we go through on a daily basis. Sometimes we also had small picnics in the training area. Our fantasies were really wild back then, we began to imagine that if one day our powers appeared, we would create our own secret base that contained visual monitors all over the world to keep an eye on the crime rate. We also fantasized about becoming a group that traveled to remote parts of our country to help people in need.

Our training process took a long time until we advanced to the next class. But afterward, our training activities became less frequent due to other commitments. For some reason at that time, we no longer felt the desire to be superheroes. Maybe it was because there were many more interesting games that made our desire to have superpowers fade away.

Even today, when the three of us get together and remember our training and fantasy moments, we always laugh out loud. Now that we're in college and adults, we consider ourselves too innocent to believe in such things back then.
