An Effective Tool For Accomplishing Altruistic Ends

What would I do or how would my life change if I suddenly had a lot of money? Nice question. I won't give a direct answer, permit me to start with a story.

The Excellent Example Of Sadio Mane

Source

Sadio Mane is a professional soccer player who has played for top European clubs such as Southampton, Liverpool and currently plays for Bayern Munich. Sadio is famous for being a wonderful footballer but he's also equally famous for being an exceptional philanthropist.

Sadio Mane has built schools, hospitals, housing complexes, handed out scholarships to people he barely knows, and made donations amounting to thousands of dollars.

I find Sadio's example very inspiring. Here is a man who has money, and a lot of it for that matter, and has decided to be totally unselfish with it. I am also inspired by the philanthropy of some famous entrepreneurs such as: Warren Buffett, Bill and Melinda Gates, Jeff Bezos, Michael Bloomberg, etc.  I think people can learn a lot from these men how financial resources should be deployed.

And that's how I view money: that it should be used as a means to accomplish unselfish ends.

Now the question of the money being made from lotteries, I want to state that I have no interest whatsoever in lotteries, I have never been engaged in one. I find the financial markets a much more profitable investment of resources, effort and time.

So, supposing I get a lot of money today, what might I use it for? Below are things I would do with it.

Things I Would Do If I Won A Lot Of Money

Giving My Family A Comfortable Life

Of course. If I should get a lot money, I would channel it first to giving my family a very comfortable life.

I will give each one of them significant financial Independence, And also making available to them all life's necessities that money can provide

Taking Care Of Myself

That's right. if I should get a lot of money today, I would get the best things that life can afford for myself. I don't mean indulging in meaningless and profitless things, but things I really need in life. Like a better mode of transportation (good automobiles), a good and comfortable place to live that's up to my standard. Infact everything good I will ever need I'm going to have them.

Also, I would use my financial resources toward personal development. I mean all-round personal development. Reading books, attending seminars, taking effective courses that will help bring out the best version of me.

Investing In Every Possible Area Of  Society

This is exactly how I plan to do it. I hope to form a confederation of like-minded people. We would put our heads together, pool our resources together, and first of all make investments in agriculture.

We would go further to invest in infrastructure, engage in infrastructural development on a grand scale, transform the infrastructural landscape of most developing nations.
From there we go into medicine, build world class hospitals, affordable to all. Give free medicines and all that.

Then education will receive special attention. Build schools that are one of their kind, schools that teach things which the curriculum of our educational system has neglected today.

Fund Research

This is one of the things I will inevitably do if a lot of money finds it's way into my hands. Think of it. The gadgets that make our life easier and that connect the world, cures for fatal illnesses, all the pleasures and comforts that research has brought to humanity. All this is the result of research. Funding research will make humanity to grow and advance rapidly in all aspects of it's living. And, if I get enough money, I will sponsor research on the grandest possible scale.

Sponsor Different Forms Of Activism

Source

Activism no doubt has done a lot of good for humanity. Activists have changed our perceptions of the weather and climate. It has reduced racial and sexual discriminations. And so forth.

I will do this because social and political ills cause a lot of damage to our society. When we have people who are speaking out and enlightening people about politics, then it is easier to have excellent governments in different nations of the world. When people are enlightened about sexual violence it will be curbed. When people's mind are illuminated on the importance of avoiding civil unrest or the importance of managing our planet wisely then the world would be a much better place. And I sure would sponsor every useful form of activism on a very grand scale.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I would like to put my money, if I should suddenly get a lot of it, to helping humans around me have better and more fufiling lives, starting of course with my family.  I am just waiting for the opportune moment to work to achieve these money goals.
