Good day everyone! Zak Ludick here from Sunny, but currently a very windy Cape Town, South Africa. Today I just wanted to share some of the pictures and thoughts about the Salt & Sage Open Mic No. 6 that happened this past weekend on Saturday! A Weekend Experience!

Firstly, why was this event important to me? Well, foremost it is because my wife, clairemobey@clairemobey was signing that night! Secondly, she sings and performs in her duo with my friend jasperdick@jasperdick and together, using their real last names, they are known as Mobey Dick!

The Mobey Dick combo will make you laugh and make you cry and make you stomp your feet! A ride of emotions is almost a signature of their performance.

Because we have been to the Salt & Safe for open Mics, I have also gotten to know a lot of the performers, the owners of the restaurant, the waiters and other staff.

The Restaurant have just doubled their floor space by taking over the shop space next door where someone moved out. This is GREAT news for the Open Mic hosted there as it was very cramped up. With the extra space they have been able to add way more seating and it feel less cramped overall.

The Salt & Sage have some really excellent burger. Though I was tempted to try out their steak, I opted for the their signature (for me anyway) Flippin the Bird Burger! Southern Fry Chicken with Brie Cheese and chili sauceโ€ฆ its really good stuff! Find it in the pictures below!

So for the line-up there was:

  • Matt Roux
  • Mobey Dick
  • Annika Lefson
  • Like The Mouse
  • Six Strings Down
  • Lukin Joshua

All of the acts were great! Mobey Dick has performed alongside Matt Roux and Lukin Joshua before at Salt and Sage and Claire and I have also gone out to watch Lukin perform at other venues.

It was an absolute blast of an evening!

Enjoy the pics!

Cheers!
