Living a very simple life and a simple lifestyle at our place located in the Northern part of Cebu. Which is surrounded by growing sugarcane and other crops on huge farmland. The beautiful mountain ranges that cover our east-side view and the refreshing air from tall trees make the place beautiful to live for.

Hello Hivers, how was your day today? I hope your day was full of blessings and good vibes. For today's blog, I'm gonna share my uphill adventure at Mt.Kampitlok located in Bogo City, Cebu.

LET'S DO ADVENTURE

It was a beautiful Sunday morning, the sun is up and telling me that something's gonna happen today. What could it be? Hahaha. The morning convinced me to go on an adventure today. So without any hesitation, I put on my favorite sandals and grab a bottle of water for my wanted adventure. As I was busy preparing myself, my mother and father wanted to go with me. And who am I to refuse, the more the merrier, right? With cheerful faces, we started hiking.

While walking on a very rocky road, our feet and shoes got whiter and whiter, thanks to the anapog (own dialect) or limestone. Hehehe. After taking one meter away from the national road, to my surprise, my two cousins came to join us in climbing the peak. Strolling on a narrow road surrounded by tall sugarcanes and coconut trees that line up a road gives beauty to the area.

MT. KAMPITLOK

Kampitlok is a name of a sitio in Baranggay Binabag that comes from the word "pitlok" in our local dialect which means choking or having trouble breathing. Due to the place's high climb worth of breath requirement, it was called Kampitlok. From the national road in Binabag, you take on an 8 km rocky road walk, before starting the uphill climb.

Our first stop after the 8 km strolling rocky road was the house of Ma'am Imy, a secretary of the barangay in Binabag and a co-worker of my mother. We uttered quick greetings and proceeded with our climb. Steep rock slowed down our trail climb, including also my mother's killjoy cramps, adding to her difficulty climbing. But despite that, my feeling of going deep into the woods made me excited and grow about my destination!

While strolling between the huge plantation of sugarcane, I saw a flower. I picked some of it and brought them with me as we kept going. Do you know what this flower is? I don't know the exact name either but one thing is for sure, it's a flower from sugarcane. It usually comes out when the sugarcane is almost ready to be harvested. This flower gives and adds beauty to the farm.

Before we reach the peak of the mountain, we passed this huge cornfield with sprouting corn in it. Yes! I'm almost to the top. Seeing my mother and cousins were a bit behind me, I took the delayed taking portraits of the beautiful scenery while waiting.

There I saw a huge farmland of our place and its evergreen planted sugarcane. I took some portraits of us and myself also. At the peak of the mountain, there was a bamboo chair where you can sit and relax and feel the fresh atmosphere. The shades of the trees will make you feel better and free from all the stress of work. We also found a hammock where I can have rest on my uphill climb. So tiring but it's all worth it!

After taking our time with nature, we took our way back home but we took another route that they said was easier for us to walk back on. And they were right, the stairs had cemented steps that cured our feet's tiredness. Slowly ascending, we took back the 8 km rocky road until we reach our home sweet home.

Thank you for reading everyone.
See you on my next adventure.
