On this day I finished the cunning audio course that I was doing, a course that I shared a little with you a few days ago. This time it was the final practice in which we did a band montage, starting from its connection of cables, microphones and instruments and at the same time programming the sound in the studio for its sound input and sound output.
We start from how to disassemble and assemble a paral. Something very interesting that teacher Chris shared with us is that the dismantling of the platform is very important, since that is where the ability to effectively mount an upcoming event starts. Many technicians when they finish and because they want to finish, they usually do everything running to go to rest; they wind the cables wrong, they throw microphones, the stands are stored incorrectly forgetting that all this is very expensive and when we go to the next assembly we find ourselves as a complete disaster that makes us lose time.
Everything is technical friends, and we see it as simple to wind a cable, but this has a technique so that it can be done correctly, taking care of the cable and when assembling a clean platform can be seen.
Learning from how a pole is mounted correctly and how it is placed on a platform were fundamental things that we learned. Also how to place the cables to the input and output source.
Mounting microphones to a drum set, which microphone and which stand goes on each one, installing this incredible Yamaha piano from the 70s that gives a unique sound was really exciting.
Having all the wiring for the instruments, we went to the console where we could adjust the sound of each instrument from there. We start from the kick drum, snare and so on each.
Then we did bass tests and finally piano and voice. We each had to go through the console tweaking an instrument from its Pfl, Gain, Nuance, Treble, Bass and Mids to the most pleasing, natural and best possible sound.
Taking this course made me know the basics of audio tricks, although it was a short course it was a good investment, since acquiring this knowledge will help me put into practice what I learned in the church I attend and continue learning.
