Ahoy mate!
The best thing that happened to me this weekend is that my little son, the third and youngest of the boys, had an operation at the end of the week. This is important because it solved an orthopaedic problem in both his legs that we had to solve about 7 years ago.

With the serious crisis we have been going through in my country, it was not possible to solve this problem, as well as other non-urgent health problems that were left unresolved.

However, in the case of my son, who is 13 years old and 1.76 metres tall, it became urgent to carry out this operation, as he was already at the limit of growth, in order to be able to intervene in the simplest and most ideal way.

The operation consisted of hemiphysiodesis and disrotator osteotomy, both on both legs. Fortunately, the operation was a success and his growth will continue in a normal way, everything he has left to grow.

Isaac is an athlete, he is an indoor football goalkeeper and dreams of playing in a field football team. He has joined this indoor football team because he has a wonderful teacher who has taught him intelligently to understand the game. He came to this sports school through his high school physical education teacher.

I have great faith that after his long recovery he will be able to get back on his feet and start training where and how he wants to.

On Friday he was discharged from the Children's Orthopaedic Hospital and we took him home in an ambulance as it was difficult to carry him in a small vehicle with both legs in plaster.

That was the anecdote of the weekend, coming home in an ambulance, because we never imagined it would have to be like that. But fortunately he is doing well and the pain has not been too bad since Saturday night.

We had to make some adjustments to the house to make it more comfortable for Isaac, as it was very difficult to get him up the stairs as ours are very narrow, so we set up his new space in the living room where he will be for at least a month.

I was supposed to work this weekend, including Saturday and Sunday, like the last two weekends. But I feel very lucky to have been able to stay and look after my son, it's what I wanted and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Being here for my son has made me feel very happy and grateful for this weekend and for life. I am also blessed that my mum and dad came to stay at my house to help us with food and my other children.

I will be doing some work remotely over the next few days but I am very reassured that Isaac is doing well, the pain is not severe and the best part is that he is in excellent spirits and although he is immobilised in his legs, he maintains a spirit of independence and self-sufficiency that is to be admired.

Here I am and here I will continue to give him lots of love and comfort, making his rest and recovery like a cosy weekend day after day.
