Hi splinter warriors,
Welcome to my blog. Just a day and a few hours more and we’re done with this current season. It’s unfortunate as I was not able to get to the silver league this season. No worries on my side as I was able to earn silver seasonal chests. I’ll be playing more so that I’ll be able to earn more seasonal chests before the season officially ends.
This is an entry to the Splinterlands weekly battle mage contest.
Battle Ruleset
| Ruleset Icon | Description |

| What Doesn’t Kill You: All units gain the Enrage ability which multiplies their speed and melee attack by 1.5x rounded up. |
Basically what this ruleset means is that your melee cards have the enrage ability. This has the ability to increase the melee damage of your melee cards and well this has a nice edge to it.
My line up

My opponents line up
| Summoner | 1st | 2nd | 3rd | 4th | 5th | 6th |

Summoner: Tarsa: I had just 3 elements available and as such I couldn’t use my favorite obsidian. Anyway Tarsa has become my second Favourite so I wasn’t worried abutting the limitations. I went for Tarsa specifically because of its buffs. Remember the Ruleset was of immense benefit to melee cards so I opted for a melee boost even before the enrage ability happened.
The Tarsa Summoner is a 4 mana summoner that offers a +1 health in addition to its +1 melee.
With the Tarsa I have many melee cards which have the opportunity and the snipe ability
1st Position
Well as usual it was the venari marksrat. This card has slowly become my Favorite first-position card. Not that it attacks at first position but with it dying it’s of immense benefit to cards that are adjacent to it.
When this unit dies adjacent cards have an increase in stats. This means with my grum flameblade adjacent to it, it was gonna have its stats increased with the venari marksrat death.
This card is a level 1 card with 3 mana. It has 1 range attack and speed and it has 2 health. With this little health, I was hoping it could get killed fast enough.
Round 1
It turns out my opponent was pretty sleek. Since it was an enrage ability battle Ruleset he figured I was gonna bring along a lot of melee cards so he decided to put in a unit that gave his first position card a +2 shield which in all honesty makes it hard to kill an opponent card.
My opponent was the first to attack and it was on my Venari marksrat from his ice pixie. With its 1 magic, the damage was not a lot. But then his captains ghost which is a card with 2 magic did the honours of killing it.
I was ok with that death as I wanted it to die pretty early in the match and it happened in round 1. Grum took the first position and the martyr ability happened.
My grum’s melee went from a 5 to 6 with increased health and speed and also a shield. It was immediately attacked by my opponent's Venari wave smith but with its powerful shield, it was just little damage.
My djinn apprentice attacked his tarhilo the frozen next and honestly I wished it hadn’t attacked it. His tarhilo has 4 melee with a lot of shields. So when it attacked it its melee was boosted to a 6 which it in turn used to clear my grum’s shield away which meant it opened it to attacks. Immediately after cleansing my grum shield his venari marksrat attacked it but with its 1-range attack, I couldn’t feel it.
My tenyi striker attacked his ice pixie but missed. But my radiated brute got a hold of his tarhilo the frozen but it didn’t do much as it still had shield.
In this round, my opponent killed one of my cards but I couldn’t kill any of his
Round 2
Things were not looking good as I’d expected grum to have had a kill already. My opponent didn’t make it easy as he had a very strong card in the first position.
The shield ability of his scavo hireling was a nuisance and unfortunately, I had no remedy to this.
In this round, his ice pixie was the first card to attack and it was on grum. With this attack, it angered Grum sending his melee to 9. Just as grums melee went to 9 my opponent’s scavo gave his first card a shield.
It was disappointing cause I would have killed his first position card with a single attack from grum.
But grum wasn’t that next in line to attack. It was his venari wave smith with the next attack. Right after its attack, his captain's ghost made the next move on my grum again but it wasn’t much of a damage.
Grum then attacked my opponent's first position card but could only clear its shield.
It attacked grum back and almost killed it, leaving it with just one health. Djinn attacked back and could only take little health away from it.
His venari marksrat had the honours of killing grum and it was damn painful. With my radiated brute coming into first position I knew I had lost the match. Because my strongest card was killed without it getting a chance to make a kill.
My tenyi striker made a move on his ice pixie and as usual, it missed it. But my brute attacked his first position card and almost had him but it wasn’t to be.
Round 3
Yet again, his ice pixie made the first move of this round and it was on my brute. Since his ice pixie had just one magic it wasn’t really moving to see that. My brute means ambushed my 3 of his cards and was suddenly killed without it landing a single attack in that round.
But then my djinn apprentice out of nowhere was able to vanquish his string first card with a magic attack.
Round 4
With this, his range attacker, Venari Marksrat came into first position. It was a no-attack card so it was virtually useless but one thing was that my opponent's shield card was still alive.
As usual, his ice pixie made the first attack on Tenyi striker with his Venari Waves Smith and Captain Ghost follow through and almost killing it.
Tenyi and Djinn made their moves but couldn’t even kill my opponent Venari Marksrat.
Round 5-6
In this round Ice Pixie made its move followed by Captain Ghost and Venari Wave Smith on my tenyi striker to finally kill it.
Djinn was the last card standing in round 6. It was able to make one kill but couldn’t hold on as it was a killer with a series of attacks in round 6.
This battle was won by my opponent with the help of his shield-boosting card. I had just one magic card while the rest were melee and range cards. With this most of my attacks only hit his shield and it was what made me loose.
Anyway, I learnt a valuable lesson from this.
