Acts of Violence is a 2018 slasher film directed and produced by Jay Baruchel. who wrote the screenplay with Jesse Chabot. An adaptation of the 2010 graphic novel, the film follows Todd Walkley (portrayed by Jesse Williams), a comic book creator whose works are used as inspiration for a string of real-life murders. Jordana Brewster and Baruchel also star.
The film begins with Todd Walkley and his publisher Ezra (Baruchel) on a press tour to announce the launch of their final issue of a comic book series called Slasherman. The series follows a masked killer who targets young women and kills them in gruesome ways.
As Todd and Ezra travel to the town where Slasherman's murders took place 20 years ago, they begin to notice strange things happening. People are being killed in ways that are eerily similar to the murders depicted in the comic book.
