A terrifying story handled very well through the use of flashbacks. Abrupt camera movements accompanied by intense music that disturbs your chest. A plot full of crime, anger, revenge, betrayal and a mystery that little by little is revealed before our eyes, for days now I have been looking for a movie with similar characteristics and I can say that I am quite satisfied and excited to make this review.

Un historia terrorífica manejada muy bien a través del uso de los flashbacks. Movimientos de cámara abruptos acompañados de una intensa música que perturba tu pecho. Una trama llena de crimen, ira, venganza, traición y un misterio que poco a poco se revela ante nuestros ojos, desde hace días he estado buscando una película con características similares y puedo decir que estoy bastante satisfecho y emocionado por hacer esta reseña.
'I See You' is an American suspense thriller directed by Adam Randall and written by Devon Graye, was produced by Head Gear Films, Kreo Films FZ, Local Hero, Metrol Technology, Zodiac Features, Zodiac Holdings and distributed by Bankside Films and recently added to the Netflix streaming service catalog. The film's crew features William Arcane in the gloomy musical setting. On cinematography is Philipp Blaubach, who does an excellent job with the creepy atmosphere and interesting shots that are not to be missed. The film premiered at the 2019 South by Southwest Festival and stars Helen Hunt, Owen Teague, Jon Tenney, Judah Lewis and Libe Barer.
The story begins with the mysterious disappearance of a 10-year-old boy while taking a path through the woods of his town riding his bike, a strange entity seems to have kidnapped him and, from this moment on, the film plays with our imagination. The police take over the case and Officer Greg Harper (Jon Tenney) concludes that it is the same kidnapper that struck that town years ago. Meanwhile, there is tension in Greg's home as he and his wife Jackie (Helen Hunt) are separated due to her infidelity. Their son, Connor (Judah Lewis), has become aware of this and has grown contemptuous of his mother. We have a façade of the perfect family with strong internal problems in which betrayal and anger are the driving forces of their lives.
‘I see you’ es un thriller de suspenso estadounidense dirigido por Adam Randall y escrito por Devon Graye, fue producida por las empresas Head Gear Films, Kreo Films FZ, Local Hero, Metrol Technology, Zodiac Features, Zodiac Holdings y distribuida por Bankside Films y recientemente añadida al catálogo del servicio de streaming de Netflix. El equipo de trabajo de la película está conformado por William Arcane, en el ambiente tétrico musical. En la fotografía se encuentra Philipp Blaubach, quien hace un excelente trabajo con la espeluznante atmosfera y planos interesantes que no se pueden perder de vista. La película fue estrenada en el año 2019 en el Festival South by Southwest y tiene como protagonistas a Helen Hunt, Owen Teague, Jon Tenney, Judah Lewis y Libe Barer.
La historia comienza con la misteriosa desaparición de un niño de 10 años mientras tomaba un camino por el bosque de su ciudad montado en su bicicleta, una extraña entidad parece haberlo secuestrado y, a partir de este momento, la película juega con nuestra imaginación. La policía toma el caso encargándose el oficial Greg Harper (Jon Tenney), llegando a la conclusión de que se trata del mismo secuestrador que azotó aquella ciudad hace años atrás. Mientras tanto, se vive una tensión en el hogar de Greg. Él y su esposa Jackie (Helen Hunt) se encuentran separados a causa de una infidelidad de parte de ella. Su hijo Connor (Judah Lewis), se ha dado cuenta de esto emergiendo en él desprecio hacia su madre, tenemos un ambiente de fachada de la familia perfecta con fuertes problemas internos en que la traición y la ira son los motores que mueven sus vidas.
As the film progresses, the main characters begin to notice strange events occurring in their house: silverware disappears, also Jackie's favorite cup and some family photographs. At first we think that everything is because of some supernatural event, even the alleged cause of two missing children seems to have some relation, when in the plot the film itself seems to skimp on the fact that everything has a logical explanation, the truth is, the director uses this psychological tactic to create a deeper mystery than usual, and I think that in this he has not failed at all.

With the strange events happening around them, the Harper family goes into a state of anxiety that someone is stalking them from their own home. Gradually, a strange entity that dwells inside the house is revealed to us, but it has nothing to do with anything supernatural. In several scenes we can see someone stalking them who ties up and knocks Connor unconscious in the bathtub of his bathroom, Jackie discovers him and rushes him to the hospital while Greg is left alone at home. Returning to the guest room of his house, he finds the photographs of his family cut up, then he hears music in the living room of his house and when he goes downstairs to find out, a strange, masked figure attacks him with an axe.
A medida que avanza la película, los personajes principales comienzan a darse cuenta de eventos extraños que ocurren en su casa: los cubiertos desaparecen, también la tasa preferida de Jackie y algunas fotografías familiares. Al principio pensamos que todo es por causa de algún evento sobrenatural, incluso la presunta causa de dos niños desaparecidos parece tener alguna relación, cuando en la trama la propia película parece escatimar el hecho de que todo tiene una explicación lógica, lo cierto es, que el director utiliza esta táctica psicológica para crear un misterio más profundo de lo habitual, y creo que en esto no ha fallado para nada.
Si te interesa la película y no te gustan los spoilers, te recomiendo no seguir leyendo a partir de aquí ya que escribiré detalles demasiado reveladores.
Con los extraños eventos ocurridos a su alrededor, la familia Harper entra en un estado de ansiedad de que alguien los acecha desde su propia casa. Paulatinamente, se nos va revelando una extraña entidad que habita dentro de la casa, pero no tiene nada que ver con algo sobrenatural. En varias escenas podemos ver a alguien que los acecha y que ata y deja inconsciente a Connor en la bañera de su baño, Jackie lo descubre y lo lleva rápidamente al hospital mientras que Greg se queda solo en casa. Al volver hacia la habitación de huéspedes de su casa, encuentra las fotografías de su familia tétricamente cortadas, después escucha una música en la sala de su casa y al bajar a averiguar, una figura extraña y enmascarada lo ataca con un hacha.
At that moment there is a sudden flashback of two young men, Mindy (Libe Barer) and Alec (Owen Teague), where we see them sneak into the Harper's house and take up residence in their guest room. The two guys appear to be recording a video for Youtube where Mindy alleges that she and her friend practice Phrogging.
Phrogging is a practice originating in the United States where so-called phroggers sneak into inhabited houses and live there for several days until they find another house to inhabit. They usually look for large, spacious houses where the owners do not stay long during the day. To subsist, phroggers eat the food of the homeowners until it is time to leave. They sleep in ventilation ducts, basements or any other place where people do not frequent and, in order not to be noticed, try not to intrude too much into the lives of the owners of the house they inhabit.
Phroggers should not be confused with Occupants, since the latter only look for uninhabited houses to live in, and their purpose, rather than being invasive, is to occupy the place as if it were their own. This practice, although not very common, exists and in this film has fit perfectly.
En ese momento ocurre un flashback repentino de dos jóvenes: Mindy (Libe Barer) y Alec (Owen Teague), donde vemos que entran desapercibidamente a la casa de los Harper y se instalan en su cuarto de huéspedes. Los dos chicos parecen estar grabando un video para Youtube en donde Mindy alega que ella y su amigo practican Phrogging.
El Phrogging, es una práctica originaria de Estados Unidos donde los llamados phroggers se escabullen dentro de casas habitadas y viven allí por varios días hasta que buscan otra casa que habitar. Por lo general, buscan casas grandes y espaciosas en la que los dueños no permanezcan mucho tiempo durante el día. Para subsistir, los phroggers comen la comida de los dueños de la casa hasta que sea momento de marcharse. Duermen en ductos de ventilación, sótanos o cualquier otro lugar donde las personas no frecuenten y, para no ser notados, tratan de no inmiscuirse mucho en la vida de los dueños de la casa en la que habitan.
Los phroggers no deben confundirse con los Ocupas, ya que estos últimos solo buscan casas inhabitadas para poder vivir, y sus propósitos, más que invasivos, es el de ocupar el lugar como si fuera suyo. Esta práctica, aunque no es muy habitual, existe y en esta película ha encajado perfectamente.

During the progress of this flashback, we realize that Mindy and Alec, (especially the second one), are responsible for the strange details that have occurred in the Harper's house and we notice a rare hostile attitude of Alec against Greg and Connor, however, this leaves you with some questions; are some of them responsible for the disappearance of children in the city? As we go along, we will discover the true hero and the true antagonist.
The performances have been quite good, although Helen Blunt's performance has left me confused, since in several moments I felt her cold, almost inexpressive, even in moments of tension, but perhaps this interpretation has been sublime due to the suppression of her guilt, however, I expected much more from the Oscar, Golden Globe and Emmy award winner.
There are people who have claimed that the film has its religious influences because it is about a person who observes the dramatic situation of the Harper's house, as if he were God who knows all their sins. And at the end, we can see a last shot of the camera moving away towards the sky until the credits finally roll. The truth is my opinion is different, and I liked most of the things I could appreciate in this movie, so I give it a rating of 7.5/10, making it a very interesting thriller that you must keep your eyes fixed on it to understand the whole plot.
Durante el avance de este flashback, nos damos cuenta que Mindy y Alec, (sobre todo el segundo), son los responsables de los extraños detalles que han ocurrido en la casa de los Harper y nos hace notar una rara actitud hostil de parte de Alec contra Greg y Connor, sin embargo, esto te deja con algunas incógnitas; ¿son algunos de ellos los responsables de la desaparición de los niños en la ciudad? A medida que vamos avanzando, descubriremos al verdadero héroe y al verdadero antagonista.
Las interpretaciones han sido bastante buenas, aunque la actuación de Helen Blunt me ha dejado confundido, ya que en varios momentos la he sentido fría, casi inexpresiva, incluso en los momentos de tensión, pero quizás esta interpretación haya quedado sublime debido a la supresión de su culpabilidad, sin embargo, esperaba muchos más de la ganadora de los premios Oscar, Globo de Oro y Emmy.
Hay personas que han alegado que la película tiene sus influencias religiosas por tratarse de una persona que observa la situación dramática de la casa de los Harper, como si fuera Dios que conoce todos sus pecados. Y al final, podemos ver un último plano de la cámara alejándose hacia el cielo hasta que llegan finalmente los créditos. La verdad mi opinión es diferente, y me ha gustado la mayoría de las cosas que he podido apreciar en esta película, por lo que le doy una calificación de 7.5/10convirtiéndose en un thriller bastante interesante al que debes de poner el ojo fijo sin despegarlo para entender toda la trama.
