Secuestro, manipulación y mentiras. Película "Desaparecidos en la noche"

A veces solo queremos ver una peli sencilla, para pasar el rato y lo único que esperamos es "no aburrirnos". Sí, sé que mis expectativas son bajísimas pero prefiero verlo de ese modo para no decepcionarme. Además, después de una semanita cargada, también es un placer culposo el ver películas que no requieran demasiado esfuerzo mental. Eso fue "Desaparecidos en la noche" para mí, una película italiana de suspenso del año 2024. Dato curioso, solo dura 1hora 30 minutos, algo que, @rafaelaquino amaría pues se queja de que actualmente las películas son muy largas 😂

Una pareja divorciada comparte la custodia de sus hijos. Cuando corresponde que los cuide el papá, los niños "desaparecen" de su casa por la noche. Preocupado, llama a su exesposa, quien sale corriendo hasta la casa para ayudar a encontrarlos, no sin antes, recriminarles que no pudo cuidarlos bien y que se los llevaron cuando él debía estar pendiente, aunque verdaderamente lo que estaba haciendo era fumar, tomar cervezas y ver un juego de fútbol.

Más temprano, nos habíamos enterado de que este hombre debía una importante suma de dinero, por lo que empezamos a sospechar que a quienes les debe, pudieron haber sido los culpables de secuestrar a sus hijos.

Antes de llamar a la policía para colocar la denuncia, recibe una llamada solicitándole 150.000 dólares para el lunes en la mañana. Defitivamente, lo nos tiene, pero la expareja decide llamar a un amigo de él, mafioso metido en el mundo de las drogas, para solicitarle el dinero prestado. Cuando Pietro va hasta la casa de su amigo se consigue con que sí, le prestará el dinero, pero antes necesita que busque droga en otra isla cercana y la traiga de regreso a casa. Pietro, desesperado, sabe que no tiene escapatoria, así que cumple con las reglas que le ha impuesto su amigo y va en su bote hasta esta otra isla cercana. Allí come solo, y espera hasta que el restaurante está a puunto de cerrar, entonces el mesero le acerca una servilleta con este mensaje "ve a tu casa de inmediato". Pietro paga la cuenta, va hasta su bote y cuando está apunto de girarlo para regresarse, llegan dos botes pequeños, con los dealers, para entregarle la droga. Estando allí, lo apuntan con una pistola para que se mantenga callado, y cuando reciben el pago, finalmente lo dejan ir con la droga.
En el camino de regreso, a la media noche, el motor del bote se accidenta, por lo que debe llamar a la costa y pedir auxilio. Llegan por él. lo ayudan a reparar el motor pero no lo dejan ir solo, además, lo obligan a ir muy lentamente para no esforzar más el motor. Mientras tanto, el tiempo corre y cada vez le queda menos tiempo para entregar el dinero y rescatar a sus hijos.
Sin embargo, después de superar este y todos los desafíos que se interpusieron en su camino, se da cuenta de que sus hijos no estaban verdaderamente "secuestrados". ¿Se enloquecío? ¿Lo engañaron? ¡Tienes que verla para encontrar las respuestas! jajaja no quiero dar spoilers pero aunque el plot twist no fue sumamente sorprendete, la trama estuve bien y pasamos un rato agradable viendo esta peli.

Sometimes we just want to see a simple movie, to pass the time and the only thing we expect is “not to be bored”. Yes, I know my expectations are very low but I prefer to see it that way so I won't be disappointed. Besides, after a busy week, it's also a guilty pleasure to watch movies that don't require too much mental effort. That was “Disappeared in the Night” for me, an Italian thriller from the year 2024. Fun fact, it's only 1hour 30 minutes long, something that, @rafaelaquino would love as he complains that currently movies are too long 😂.

A divorced couple shares custody of their children. When it falls to the dad to watch them, the kids “disappear” from their home at night. Worried, he calls his ex-wife, who rushes to the house to help find them, but not before reproaching him for not taking good care of them and that they were taken away when he should have been watching them, even though he was smoking, drinking beers and watching a soccer game.

Earlier, we had learned that this man owed a large sum of money, so we began to suspect that the people he owed might have been the ones responsible for kidnapping his children.

Before calling the police to file a report, he receives a call asking for $150,000 by Monday morning. He definitely has it, but the ex-couple decides to call a friend of his, a mobster involved in the world of drugs, to borrow the money. When Pietro goes to his friend's house, he finds out that yes, he will lend him the money, but first he needs him to look for drugs on another nearby island and bring them back home. Pietro, desperate, knows he has no way out, so he complies with the rules his friend has imposed on him and goes in his boat to this other nearby island. There he eats alone, and waits until the restaurant is about to close, then the waiter brings him a napkin with this message “go home immediately”. Pietro pays the bill, goes to his boat and when he is about to turn it around to go back, two small boats arrive with the dealers to deliver the drugs. While there, they point a gun at him to keep him quiet, and when they receive payment, they finally let him go with the drugs.
On the way back, at midnight, the boat's engine crashes, so he has to call the shore and ask for help. They help him repair the engine but do not let him go alone, and force him to go very slowly so as not to strain the engine any further. Meanwhile, time is running out and he has less and less time to deliver the money and rescue his children.
However, after overcoming this and all the challenges that stood in his way, he realizes that his children were not really “kidnapped”. Did he freak out, was he tricked, you have to watch it to find the answers! hahaha I don't want to give spoilers but even though the plot twist wasn't extremely surprising, the plot was good and we had a nice time watching this movie.
