Saludos mis apreciados cinéfilos. El día de hoy vamos a disfrutar un filme de los años 90, de uno de los ídolos de las artes marciales y del género de acción de la época. Hablamos de Jean Claude Van Damme, un actor que todos sabemos que se ha dedicado a repartir puñetazos y patadas a diestra y siniestra. También es cierto, que este actor junto a Stallone y Schwarzenegger, fueron los grandes de los 90 en cuanto a acción se refiere, y que a medida que avanzaban en su carrera ésta iba de menos a más.
Por otro lado, vamos a destacar este filme en particular de Corazón de León, Peleador Sin Ley, porque no sólo se ven puños y patadas, sino que hay una combinación perfecta entre artes marciales, acción, y drama. Particularmente, la película me gusta un mundo, y por ello se las traigo a ustedes para que se animen a verla, se que es un poco vieja, pero de verdad es buena buena, y es digna de tenerla en nuestra colección. Me declaro fanático de las artes marciales, y lógicamente de Jean Claude Van Dame.

Corazón de León es una película de 1990, fue dirigida por Sheldon Lettich, quien también se encargó de Doble Impacto y The Order, donde también participó el mismo Van Damme. El guión estuvo bajo las plumas de este director y de Jean Claude. Contó con un presupuesto de 6 millones de dólares, recaudando un poco más de 24 millones. Este filme está lleno de peleas a granel para todos los gustos, además de dar ese toque emotivo y dramático que aporta el actor, para que el filme se convierta en algo diferente a lo que generalmente Van Damme nos tiene acostumbrados.
Ciertamente la película no fue un éxito taquillero, ni tampoco el actor tuvo un pago exorbitante, sin embargo, fue una de las cintas con las que Van Damme siguió ascendiendo, hasta que en 1991 se consagrara con la película Soldado Universal. Como datos sobre el actor, éste desde 1979 hasta 1984 consiguió papeles como extra, hasta que en 1986, actúa en la cinta Retroceder Nunca, Rendirse Jamás, y aunque su papel no fue protagónico, actuó como personaje antagónico participando en escenas claves como Iván El Ruso. De hecho, desde esta película he seguido la carrera de Van Damme. Y no podemos dejar por fuera al peligroso Abdel Qissi, quien es el antagonista Attilla. Esta actuación de Attilla es digna de que la vean, no vale la pena contarla, el filme perdería todo sentido.

Lo que más me atrae de esta película, es que Van Damme en su papel de León Gaultier, está alejado de todo tipo de venganza, cuya misión tradicional sería la de eliminar a cualquier villano dentro de la trama. Al contrario, el actor se limita al uso de lo que sabe hacer, que es pelear para ganarse la vida y proteger a su cuñada y sobrina, aunque ésta no lo quiera. Otro aspecto es que no existen torneos, sino que las peleas se hacen de forma clandestina, y esto hace más atractiva la película. En pocas palabras, la diversión y entretenimiento están garantizados de principio a fin, ya que su guión está enmarcado en una correlatividad y desarrollo correcto, tiene argumento, y buen tema.
Desde mi punto de vista las peleas están bien logradas, un Van Damme haciendo de las suyas con sus técnicas y heroísmo, desarrollando una trama donde también tuvo participación para el guión. De hecho, este filme para mí, a pesar de no ser un éxito taquillero, es una de las mejores de este actor, y estoy seguro está a la altura de Kick boxing y Deporte Sangriento. La he disfrutado, y disfruto cada vez que la veo, y es totalmente recomendable para aquellos amantes de la acción y de las artes marciales. Definitivamente es un clásico de clásicos, con mucha emotividad y drama. El final tienen que verlo, porque de verdad va más allá de las ganas de salir adelante, y de la fuerza que puede surgir luego de la traición de un amigo.

From my point of view the fights are well done, a Van Damme doing his best with his techniques and heroism, developing a plot where he also had a hand in the script. In fact, this film for me, despite not being a box office success, is one of the best of this actor, and I'm sure it's on par with Kick boxing and Blood Sport. I enjoyed it, and enjoy it every time I watch it, and it is totally recommended for those who love action and martial arts. It is definitely a classic of classics, with a lot of emotion and drama. The ending you have to see, because it really goes beyond the desire to move forward, and the strength that can come after the betrayal of a friend.
Los personajes, claro está, unos mejores logrados que otros; sin embargo, en términos generales encontramos a Jean Claude Van Damme en pleno apogeo, con una juventud vigorosa ejecutando uno de sus mejores papeles, de verdad que aplica el humanismo, el sentimiento de familia, y la imposición de su habilidad para salir adelante de las situaciones más increíbles. Por otra parte, notamos a Harrison Page como Joshua, en una interpretación fresca, un poco chistosa, e insistente por salir adelante, sin dejar de lado su brillantez. Pero no podemos olvidar a la mala de película, una mujer ambiciosa, caprichosa, y acostumbrada a conseguir lo que quiere. Por su puesto, sin el resto del reparto nada de esto sería posible; pero como dije, unas actuaciones están por encima de otras.

Esta cinta es digna de tenerla presente en nuestra lista de películas del recuerdo que siempre deseamos ver. Ciertamente la historia contada es muy simple, pero no deja de ser entretenida, además, la combinación de acción, emoción, y drama, hace que te quedes pegado a la pantalla de principio a fin; claro está, todo es cuestión de gustos y colores, pero para los amantes de este género, saben que no estoy diciendo nada que vaya en contra de ello.
